How’s the Back-up Planning Going 2020 now 2021 Brides?

Nicole , on October 14, 2020 at 3:34 PM Posted in California Planning 0 9
Hey fellow brides of Fall 2021! Our wedding was supposed to be 9/19/2020, but we rescheduled back in June to 9/25/2021 and thank goodness we did because the Bobcat fire would have had us evacuated two days before anyways!
How is planning going if you’ve rescheduled? Anyone nervous this far out for continued restrictions?

I went through with my wedding this year and thankfully the smoke cleared for the day. I'm glad you rescheduled. Fires were our number one worry when we started planning a wedding. I think only a person in CA would look for a venue with defensible space Smiley xd

Right!? Ugh so crazy. So glad you were able to have your day, hopefully the leftover haze makes your pictures that much more beautiful- I hear it’s a thing. 😅

Our venue just gave us the heads up and gave us the option to postpone or outright cancel the entire wedding. We decided to keep our original date for now, but we did come up with a Plan B.

Plan A: Have big wedding as planned on original date.

Plan B: Postpone big wedding, but get married on the day of the wedding no matter what.

Sorry you’re having to make decisions like that. Thank goodness for the venues willing to work with 2020 brides!

    Hi Nicole!

That's so crazy! We must be near each other because the Bobcat fire was in the mountains right behind us in Monrovia. Thankfully you were able to reschedule! Our date is still 7/4/21 but we recently spoke to the banquet hall and not sure what's going to happen. Do you have a plan B in case? I'm trying to find some outdoor options and really nervous about booking vendors with everything going on. I still need to find my dress too Smiley sad

Yes! I'm on the other side of the San Gabriels in the Antelope Valley! No plan B yet but my coordinator and I will start talking again in January. My vendors were able to roll with me but I've heard from others that the key is to communicate fully and discuss all their policies up front. I'd ask them up front what their plan will be if covid is still an obstacle or another natural disaster happens. I got my dress at Deborah's Bridal in Upland- they are so nice and helpful with all this going on and I highly recommend making an appointment with them!

Our wedding was October 10th, then we moved it to February 27th, and now we are at November 6th, 2021. Not worried yet, I did cut my guest list from 155 to 110. I just want the wedding that I've always dreamed of. It makes me sad, but I'm hoping and praying that 2021 is going to be a great year.

Yes. We postponed our wedding from August 2020 to June 2021, and I don't think we will be able to have our wedding in June. Super bummed. Smiley sad
