How to store my dress before the wedding?

Hello! I used to work in bridal salons and honestly the best thing to do is make sure you have a good quality garment bag to start. Then store it in a dark, cool, dry place that isn't exposed to any weird smells, like pets or cigarettes. I have been storing mine in my grandmother's closet because she has never smoked in her home nor does she have pets. Her home is very well kept up and doesn't get a lot of moisture. Mine however has just about all of those things. Plus I wanted it out of the way and somewhere he wouldn't have to worry about seeing it.

Agree with PP - make sure the dress is secure and in a safe place!

My bridal salon recommemded I take my dress out of the bag, wrap it in a white or light colored cotton sheet and lay it flat on a bed or similar surface (obviously clean, out of light, humidity etc). Not entirely sure of the reasoning but I believe something to do with letting it breathe so it doesn’t become discolored. My wedding isn’t for over a year so this is what I’ll be doing.
