How to send invites in the wake of Coronavirus? Summer wedding.

Kelly, on March 15, 2020 at 10:25 PM Posted in Planning 1 3
Hello! Our date is July 25th and I am starting to get nervous about what all of this means for our day. We have over 100 guests invited from out of state and 360 total invited, most everyone is from out of town. We were hoping to send out invites sometime in April but are uneasy doing so with everything going on. I don’t won’t to send invites too prematurely with any verbiage to scare off guests, but also don’t want to wait too long when people will need to be making travel arrangements. It seems with warmer weather and time passing this will be settled by then, but it’s all so unknown.

What is everyone else doing? Should we include verbiage and continue updating on the website? Wait until the beginning of May?

July 11 here. We're planning on staying with our original plan. We'll send our invites out at the end of April/beginning of May. We sent out STDs to our out of state guests last year, so if they're still planning on coming, they have that information. If you sent out STDs, I'd send out your invites as normal (mid-May), but if you haven't, end of April will probably be fine. Just make sure your RSVP date is as close to your event as you can make it so you can get the most accurate RSVPs (our caterer needs numbers 3 weeks out, so we, unfortunately, have to have our RSVP date a month ahead of the wedding).

I would plan as normal - more than likely by your date there will be a grasp on this situation. I'm sure that all of your guests will wait until late May or early June to RSVP too - so I would also be understanding of later RSVPs. Don't let this ruin the fun of planning! Congratulations on your wedding! Happy planning!

My wedding is July 25th as well. The majority of my guests will be traveling from out of state. Our invitations were ordered last week. We will send them out mid/end of April. The RSVP date is June 26th. Trying to stay positive. It’s heartbreaking reading the posts for those with March and April dates.
