How to make a backyard wedding feel more private?

Ashouraita, on April 13, 2017 at 2:56 AM Posted in Planning 0 2

Hello. I'm going to have both my ceremony and reception in the backyard of my grandmother's house. Everything about it is perfect except for the fact that it's not fenced in. There is a fence on one side because that neighbor's backyard is fenced, but it's completely open otherwise. What would you suggest to make it feel more secluded?

Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

White cloth panels hanging from frames...or strung up, if you can tie one end to a tree and the other end to the house, or anything like that. Would look pretty with some trailing vines and/or flowers hanging down with them.

If you plan on having the food served outside, you could use the table setups as a natural border, and do as That One Chick said (I would maybe set up some pretty drapery for a photo booth at one end, then maybe something chiffon to go with the late spring/summer date (so that it doesn't feel closed in, but provides a divide)).

(Just a head's up...if this thread is still going when WW wakes up, they will ask a number of questions about set up and rain plan (and making sure that your food is catered by a professional company). They will be legitimate questions to consider, but it will feel like a million voices in your head.)
