How to keep your wedding dress from yellowing

Autumn, on October 1, 2018 at 9:34 AM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 8
I found the absolute most amazing dress for me about 3 weeks ago!Smiley love It fits my body like a glove, I feel gorgeous, and I know 100% my mans jaw is going to drop when he sees me( there might even be a little crying)! Now the problem at hand. My wedding date is a little under a year away...... I've reasereched everything making sure I've got all the details on how to keep my dress white, but I'm still worried 😥 ladies if you have any tips or things you're all doing please let me know!
Thanks in advanceSmiley kiss

I don't think your dress will yellow in a year, as long as you keep it covered and in a dark place (like a closet). I got mine 15 months before the wedding and they told me not to worry about it yellowing... apparently that takes several years and/or it being left in a place where sunlight can turn it yellow

I have mine laying on a shelf in a closet with hopefully the door closed.
Its at my grandparents house so I hope they're keeping it closed

Ok I've got mine in my guest room locked in a closet that's plenty dark and a good temperature! I'm just so worried. I've heard horror stories from a couple of my friends and their mothers ,about people they know....who's dress did this or that! It's like Geeeesh guy! I already have enough to worry about! please do tell me all these stories that will give me night mares at night....😕 I'm really glad that I'm doing it right though. Thank heavens 🙏❣

Ok I'm glad because I really love this dress and I don't want to go get it the week before and have a yellow pee stain colored dress 😵 I've got it in a closet ,in the dark, in a breathable bag, and the room stays at a good consistent temp. So fingers crossed I'll be good 👍 thank you for commenting back! It really eases my mind for sure!

I had never even heard of this. I got my dress almost a year ago and it hasn't yellowed at all!

I got my dress a year out, kept it in the bag I was given, and I had no yellowing.

My dress yellowed before the wedding. I bought it stark white. It came in March 2019 and I'm getting married in a little under 6 weeks, in Feb 2020. When I tried the dress in March it was stark white, just like I ordered. They stored it for me. When I had alterations done in the past few weeks, the dress wasnt the same stark white color that came in when I ordered it. It looks more like off white now. Its still white, but definitely not the pure white it was when it came in. I thought it was maybe the lighting, but when I did alterations, I bought a closet to wear underneath that was also stark white, and when you hold the brand new corset up to my dress, you can definitely tell it isnt white anymore. I'm still ok with it, as I wanted more of a off white dress to begin with, but I'm still surprised it yellowed as much as it did so fast.
