How to keep my wedding dress nice.

Jazmin, on June 3, 2020 at 2:12 AM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 5
Hello everyone,
I hope everyone is having a nice day and a good night. & staying safe. I'm a little worried about my wedding dress. I purchased it on January 3rd and I received it early March. I was supposed to get married on August 15, 2020, but with the pandemic happening, we had to reschedule it till next year because of money and not working. I have my dress still in the box but what can I do to keep nice and white until next year?

As long as it’s a good quality dress, it won’t yellow in a year. Mine was hanging in my closet from April 2018 until January 2020 (I got married in June 2019 but procrastinated getting it preserved lol) and it was still white as could be!

I’d ask the people at the shop you bought it from, to be sure, but most dresses will stay white for a long while. Preserving them to stay white is really only necessary when you’re keeping it for many years.

I agree with pp. I got mine on dec on 2018 and i didn't wear it until april of 2020. It was still the same color i got it. Just leave it in back of your closet. It won't get ruined. I remember being worried like you but i ended up stressing over nothing.

I would put it in a garment bag. If it's a lighter dress, hang it up in the bag. If it's heavier, fold it and place it on a safe surface in your closet so it doesn't stretch out or wrinkle.

The biggest thing is don't put it in plastic!! Make sure it's in a fabric garment bag.
