How to include your stepdad in wedding???

My stepdad and I are close, he's one of my best friends and we both always tell people that the other is one of our "favorite people", he doesn't have kids of his own and I'm the closest thing he has to a daughter. I am also extremely close to my father, I've always been a "daddy's girl" and don't want to in any way upset my dad or make him feel like my step dad is stepping in on his "rights" at the wedding. BUT I want to do something special for him and include him in some way, he's been too big in my life for me not to. My fiancé says that I should just have both him and my dad walk me down the aisle, BUT my mom thinks that it might upset my dad, she's all for me finding a way to include her husband in my wedding, we're both just kinda at a loss on how to do so.

I'm going through the same dilemma. I'm extremely close to my dad and step dad & I'm trying to find a way to incorporate them both. I was honestly thinking about having them boy walk me down.

That's what my fiancé and I both said, but then my Mom and Sister both said they weren't sure how it would go over...soooooooo I'm at a loss, because I know that if I talk to my dad about it he'll tell me to go for it even if it upsets him because "It's my Day"...

I was going to say to have them both walk you, but I can understand how that might upset your dad. My other suggestion would be to do a father/daughter dance with both of them, that way they both get a special moment with you.

I figure it's my day. So I'm just going to have them both walk me down. I don't care who is upset about it. They better put their feelings aside because its my day. I'm extremely close to my stepdad and I'm extremely close to my real dad as well. So I think it's fair to have them both walk me down.

Maybe you could talk to your dad about how you feel and see if he is okay with it? Thats so awesome you have such a great relationship with your step. I am going to be (guess i already have been for a little over a year and a half) a stepmom and its sooo unbelievable hard but i keep at it so hopefully one day we have this kind of bond too

What about a 2nd father-daughter dance, after you dance with your dad? Also, I’ve heard about the father walking the bride halfway down the aisle, then step dad walking her the rest of the way. Maybe he would be ok with that?

I’m having my dad walk me half way down the aisle and have my stepdad sit on the end of the row and stand up and walk with us the rest of the way.
