How to include children in the wedding

BrideToBe, on September 26, 2015 at 8:16 PM Posted in Etiquette and Advice 0 10

So we have our flower girl and ring bearer but we have a 11 year old girl, an 8 year old girl and an 8 year old boy we would like to include in our wedding but aren't sure how. We aren't super traditional so I'm open to all kinds of ideas, even fun ones! We are having a fun/partyish wedding style.

How old are the rb and fg? If you want to go fun you could Jane the other boy be ring security and then the two girls could also be flower girls. My cousins wedding she had like 5 or 6 girls but they were fairies instead and they twirled down the Isle.

We do a lot of sand ceremonies with kids who pour colors that match their personality.

We gave my older nieces "jobs" so that they wouldn't feel left out. They wore our wedding colors and did things like stand with the guestbook/quilt, set up yard games at reception, hand out favors at reception and things like that. They loved the responsibility and felt really important on the day. Some of the things we didn't necessarily need anyone to do. but they don't have to know that.. Smiley winking

I have 6 little cousins. 2 of them will be flower girls, one is too young to care, and the other 3 will be handing out bubbles for after the ceremony.

Why not include them in the wedding party as junior bridesmaids and a junior groomsman? OUr daughters are older (18 and 13). My daughter is his Best Woman and his daughter is my MOH.

ETA: We're also doing a sand ceremony with the girls. We each will be picking out our own color of sand.

We aren't doing programs or a sand ceremony but having them carry signs would be a cute idea!

My FH has a three year old and a six year old both boys.

The oldest is going to take care of your rings, the little

one is going to toss rose petals.

So we have our FG & RB (my god sister & FHs Nephew who are both 6). FHs other nephew (9) recently just came back home from Italy and we really wanted to include him in the wedding, we also wanted to include my god daughter (FSILs daughter) who will be almost 2 at the wedding. We decided that the other Nephew will walk down the aisle with our Niece/god daughter. They won't have a job or anything just be part of the processional.
