How to end a very intimate wedding

Jennifer, on January 6, 2020 at 8:28 PM Posted in Wedding Reception 0 10
We will have under 30 guests and are staying at the house where the wedding is located. Therefore, we are concerned on how to end the evening. Any ideas besides just making a speech thanking everyone for the night. I do love this idea but I also wouldn't mind something with some more character. Help me out!

Can't everyone just chill and have some drinks or just play some music and everyone start dancing?

We are serving dinner, having drinks and dessert with background music played by a string duo. We didn't plan on dancing due to my fiance and I being super weird about being the center of attention. So once the night has to come to an end (the resort has a time limit on noise), we wanted someway to finalize the evening.

We have guests staying in the home we rented and I kind of want a way to have an actual end. That way the guests staying in the home can get some sleep before departing early the next morning.

I guess have a little after party at your place you are renting and play some games. In regards to dancing I meant for the guests not you two lol. I guess I have never stayed at a wedding until they end so I guess I am unsure how to help. I am sorry.

What about a send off? Weddings we have stayed at have let the DJ inform everyone of the last song.

One thing that we decided to do was to do a send off and drive around the block. That way you get the cute pictures of a send off and it also helps the crowd understand that you left even if you are staying in the same place.

We put on our website that the party would go from 6pm until 10pm, that way people would have an idea in advance of about how long to expect to be there. We're a bunch of old fogies though, so in reality, I think people will be out by 9. Smiley xd

If you did something like that and then had a small thank you toast about half an hour before you wanted things to be over, mentioning how great it was to have everyone and how you wish the night didn't have to end, but it must, etc., I think that would work out grand.

We are the same way. I doubt people will want to party hard but I hate not to have a plan. I do love the speech idea and most likely will go with that.

I was thinking of renting a car for this but I hate the idea of spending the money for a 15 min ride. Guess we could use my trusty GMC. May not have the same effect lol
