How to do vows and translation in bilingual wedding?

EStrella, on February 14, 2020 at 8:16 PM Posted in Planning 0 4

Asking on behalf of a friend as english isnt his first language- hes getting married and he wonders how to do the vows in english and Brazilian portuguese. So the groom and bride want to read the vows in both english and brazilian portuguese he was thinking of reading one sentence in english first and then in Brazilian portuguese afterwards or he read in english his vows (shes native english speaker) and she read in Brazillian portuguese. Also if theres a MC kind of person should they translate or should the groom as he's bilingual for the reception , she isnt bilingual , its his wedding so he probably doesnt want to do translating just relax and enjoy the wedding. What did you guys do for yours? Did you have a bilingual wedding? or any advice , tips?

I actually think it would be really special and meaningful if they did their vows in one language and the translator said them in the other language. I agree that after each sentence they should pause to have the translator translate it.
