How to delete a TheKnot wedding website??

Trena, on June 11, 2013 at 10:55 PM Posted in Etiquette and Advice 0 11

Hey guys! The weirdest thing just happened to me! I found an RSVP from a guest, in my spam folder, in my email I use for trash stuff. It was an RSVP for a TheKnot wedding website, which I didn't even know I had!! The one I have on my invites and STDs is the WW one.

The TK one didn't have any info on it, but apparently people can still RSVP, even without a list of names... I hid all the pages, but I'd rather delete the whole thing entirely. Anyone know how to do that? I don't need other guests getting confused, like this one obviously did.... will deleting my account get rid of the website. I never use it since I found WW, but I don't know if that will delete the website too, or if the website will forever and always be out in the interwebs.... ugh

If I remember correctly some other WW brides had this issue and it may have been related to where the bride was registered (ie TheKnot getting info on couples from their registry)... I also believe TheKnot customer support had to be emailed to delete the site. Any other ladies remember?

Really? That is so inconvenient! They would make it really difficult to delete your account! ugh. Okay.

    Thanks ladies for the help!

Argh, His Butterfly... don't tell me that! How could the Knot possibly think we would stay with them forever? It's only one very small part of our lives, planning a wedding. If I knew they were so sketchy, I wouldn't have signed up way back when to begin with!

Not sure if this is too old to bump, but my fiance just found our "website" on the knot and I never created one. Grrr. I just contacted them to have my account completely wiped out.

This exact same just happened to me as well. How annoying! They should have a better way of deleting the website.

I just realized I never posted an update. I know it won't get bumped, but it may help those searching. About a week after I sent a pretty scathing email, tellin them how creepy I thought the unwanted website was, they emailed back saying they deleted my account. No apology, but at least they got back to me. A few days after that, I googled our names, and the website no longer popped up. Thank goodness.
