How to dance in a long wedding dress

john, on June 22, 2014 at 10:26 PM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 3

My daughter is getting married in 2 weeks. She has a dress with hooks that can tie up the train (which isn't terribly long).

The problem is that the dress itself drags the floor. She tried it on and was unable to dance without stepping on it. So she bought a petticoat, hoping that it would push the dress out a bit enabling her feet to move. Same problem, she seems to be stepping on the petticoat.

Any suggestions? She would prefer not to change into a separate dress for the reception.

Taller shoes? You can try to have the bustle take up a little or the dress itself but 2 weeks isn't much time Smiley sad

I would have the bustle taken up. I had to have mine completely redone a week before my wedding because the bridal shop did a half ass job. I stepped on it in every direction. We t to a new alterations place and said look, I want to be able to dance only wedding day and I don't care how the bustle looks. It looked way better in the end and I could dance all night!

Definitely get the bustle lifted up. When done properly the dress should just dust the floor. Taller shoes will definitely help too.
