The shop I bought my dress from doesn't do alterations and I also live about two hours from where I bought the dress, so I didn't want to use any of their recommendations at the store since that'd be too much travel for fittings.
Does anyone have experience in choosing a seamstress? Most of the ones I've found don't have a lot of online reviews to go off. Is it better to go to a seamstress who works out of their home or should I consider an actual tailor shop instead?
I don't need any major alterations. My dress needs to have some length taken off in the front and either a bustle or wrist loop added to hold up the back at the reception.
I have an appointment already set up with a lady in town, but I guess I'm nervous about leaving my gown with someone and thought it would be best to ask for opinions.
