How tight wedding dress should be?

Aryn, on September 15, 2019 at 1:33 PM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 4
I found out I was pregnant a month and a half ago and have been very bloated,I have a strapless a-line wedding dress so I know the body is supposed to be pretty tight but I can’t take a huge breath in it? I got it fitted a little while ago but forgot how bloated I get when pregnant, this is my second. Well my wedding is in a week and I’m trying to avoid taking it out anymore but I’m not sure how tight is too tight? I can breath normally and sit down in it justbcant take a deep breath, is that right? Thank you!

No, you should be able to take a deep breath. Otherwise, you run the risk of fainting. This is why so many women used to faint in the old days because they wore tight corsets that made it difficult for them to breathe. I would see if there is something your seamstress can do. Congrats on your pregnancy!

I agree! It's super important that you can actually breathe normally. If you can't it's definitely too tight!

You’re not bloated, you’re pregnant! Congrats!! Make sure you’re drinking lots of water! I would put your dress on and walk around with it on for 10-15 minutes and see how you feel. Bridal gowns don’t fit like normal clothes, even without being pregnant, so it may just be the structure of the gown. If it’s still bothering you or becoming to be too much to wear, I would see if your seamstress can let it out. However with only a weeks time, that’s cutting it really close and it may not be able to be done. Good luck and congrats!!

My dress was a strapless trumpet with a corset back. I don't think I could take deep breaths either, but I needed it tight so it wouldn't slip down and I wouldn't be pulling at the top all night. However, the days after my wedding my whole torso was sooooo sore. It was definitely too tight. Make sure you can breathe deeply, but not have the dress falling down.
