How should I do my hair for my wedding?

MosherWedding2016, on July 21, 2016 at 10:02 AM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 26

I am going for my hair and makeup trial this weekend. I can't decide if I want to wear my hair up or half up, half down. How did you decide? Thank you.

I'm doing hair down for ceremony and main pictures and then up for reception and dancing because I know I will ever sweaty!

I did half up half down, best of both worlds! Smiley smile

I've got a couple of questions Smiley smile

What does your dress look like? (especially the neckline and top)

    Are you wearing a veil?

How do you normally wear your hair?

    What length is your hair?

I hate my hair up so I was down to half up or all down pretty quickly Smiley smile I'm going to go with a little less than half up (some pieces pinned back on both sides) so there's something to stick my veil into and also so I'm not touching my hair / tucking it behind my ears all night!!

I did half up/down. Worked with the heat and what I felt most comfortable in!

    @WWLynnie

My dress has a beaded neckline. I will be wearing a veil. I have long hair and I normally wear it down.

I think I would like it up because it feels more formal, but I don't really like my hair up as much.

I have a ton of hair, and it gets heavy / gives me a headache after a while when it's up, so I know my hair will mostly down. Smiley smile plus I hate photos of myself with my hair up.

I am doing half up half down. Half down because my FH really likes my curly hair when its down and half up because I have a tiara and veil and my hairstylist needs something to set it up in. Have you played with your hair up or down when you have your dress on? Sometimes that's the best way to find out if you like how it looks with the dress. Smiley smile Have fun at your trial! 1) I don't have "good" hair that wears down very well. My curls usually fall out or gets frizzy as I dance. Will your hair wear well throughout the day?

    2) I wear my hair down every day, and I think updos are more formal, and that's what I was "going for" with my look!

    3) I was getting married in July, so long hair down = hot!

Up. My hair is that super straight, super fine hair that usually is only found on Afghan Hounds, and I have a ton of it. It doesn't hold a curl and my other option is to...let it be hanging straight? So up it goes.

I'm still on the fence about this too. I'm trying to grow my hair super long so I can do a swept to one side curly look. I've also toyed with the idea of an up-do but I worry about getting a headache from having it pinned all day. We're also getting married in December so down may be more appropriate.

August will be hot, so think about doing an up-do. It won't look like it does when it's just thrown up in a bun. Stylists can do awesome things to frame your face, and make sure you feel beautiful Smiley smile

To me, hair up is more formal/elegant, and hair down is more romantic/fun. So I guess it depends what you're going for.

@FutureMrsJay - sounds like we have the same hair, and I LOVE that description. Afghan Hound hair. Hilarious!

I am wearing my hair in a low up-do. My hair is super long, and the beading on my dress causes my hair to snag and get tangled. Plus my dress has an open back, so I would like that to show

Thick wavy hair here. I'm going for a rock'n'roll vibe so I'm wearing it down in a messy bedhead blowout.

Hair pinned up seems super formal to me and that's the opposite direction of the whole thing for us so it seemed like the obvious choice. I'd say go with what makes you comfortable.

I'm doing mine up because my hair is super long and thick and I will look like a sweaty, gross beast if I leave it down all day = ) With the weather in September, I just have no idea.

I'm generally more comfortable for a long period of time if my hair is off my neck, otherwise I tend to play with my hair unknowingly because it drives me bonkers!

I'm either doing mine down or just half up. I just think my hair is prettier when it's down and I don't like my ears! But if it was a completely outdoor wedding (our reception is indoors), I might consider putting it up at some point. Heat all day on long hair doesn't mix well.

I'm torn because I have an illusion back dress and don't want to cover it, but I like my hair and never wear it up. And I'm not a fan of the swideswept hairstyles.

I'm doing an up do, because of the heat (living in Texas ain't no joke! This heat is serious lol)

I went with up because of heat and ease. With an updo I don't have to worry as much about sweating out my hair. I also don't have to deal with the cost and time of getting extension to wear it down. Just in general I feel that up hair is "safer" than down. You have a lot more control and don't have to worry about it falling, sweating, etc. But def go with whatever you feel beautiful with.
