How much should you spend on his wedding band?

Rose-Marie , on February 20, 2019 at 6:43 PM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 23
So my fiancé and I were discussing buying his wedding band and he spent $6,000 on my rings but wants me to buy him a $350 band. Should I buy what he wants or invest more money into it for a better quality ring?

I would buy what he wants! I spent around $700 on my husband’s I think, but he had no opinion on it so I just went with a plain platinum band. There will always be a big price difference between an engagement ring and a wedding band.

My FH only wants a silicone band but I told him he has to have a regular ring for nice occasions. So I found a ring for $150 (even though he doesn’t want me spending that much) and he loves it. He also likes the 20 silicon one I showed him!

Our rings together were $1300.. with a 20% discount because we bought them from the same jeweler he bought my e-ring from. I kind of wish we waited a bit because there are a couple nice jewelers right now that are running BOGO free specials on wedding rings. Although I’m sure they have a way to make it very expensive anyways! I love our rings and mine looks great with my e-ring and I can’t wait to wear it forever Smiley smile

Absolutely buy him what he wants! I spent about $400 on FH’s band. Just the setting (not the diamond!) on my engagement ring cost twice as much, and that’s not even considering my wedding band.

I’m not into spending a lot of money on jewelry. I will most likely spend $100 on his band or less.

I would get him what he wants. I know my guy spent more than I would have wanted him to on my ring. I love it though. He's a plumber and doesn't want a really expensive ring that may get messed up. There are some really nice Tungsten rings that look expensive but are affordable.

My fiance spent about $3000 on my bands, I spent $7 on his. He didn't want a fancy band, get him what he wants! He will be the one wearing it

Definitely get him what he wants. He has to wear it for the rest of his life. My fancy fiancé 😂 picked out a $2,000 wedding band, which is a lot, but not compared to my engagement ring/wedding band. I got him 4 silicon bands on amazon for $10 that he will wear to gym and work. The fancy band is what he will wear on the weekends and when we go out. Not all men are the same, but if we have a say on our rings, they should too!

I'd get whatever he wants. I told my FH to pick one he will wear. His ring from his previous marriage was super cheap and hurt his finger. This round he wants a comfort band so he doesn't look down in pain. I told him he can have whatever HE likes as he will be the one wearing it. I think the one he picked is about $750 but he was a little specific and we could only find it at one place.

The one I'm designing for my FH will cost $820, but if he told me he wanted a specific band, no matter what the cost was, I would've probably gotten him the one he wants!

I spent roughly $850 on his ring and he spent a fortune on mine. I agree with everyone else, their rings don't tend to be overly expensive. Definitely get him what he wants though, even though it doesn't cost as much.

Ha - my fiancé and I went shopping and he picked out a $3000 ring. I'd be delighted if he wanted something more simple (and closer to $350).

I say get him something nice, but within reason and something he will actually wear.

I’ve had the same debate with my FH! He spent $22,000 on the Engagement ring, and we haven’t gotten the band yet- but it’s going to be about $6,000.

He wants a very plain band, silver/ platinum/white gold. And I want to get him one with a small bit ‘o bling, to match mine....
I will get one that is a Happy compromise and have it engraved inside..

At a Bridal show I went to I won 2 free bands from a website. They are ehhh, and won’t work at all with my Engagement Ring, but I will order the one he likes and the matching plain band for me- why not!

My FH says the same thing but im just not feelin it. He spent thousands on mine, I want his to be special as well. He wants to spend thousands more on my wedding band before getting him the wedding band he is in love with. I told him absolutely not. Not one more diamond will be placed on my finger until we get what he wants. I am perfectly fine with a regular rose gold band.

Let him get what it wants. If something fancy or matching is important to you, maybe get him a second ring on your anniversary for him to wear on special occasions. Honestly, it’s not uncommon for guys to beat the crap out of their rings, so it really makes no sense to get something expensive if he fits in that category. I know mine does!
