How much should I eat at the rehearsal dinner?

Let me preface this by saying I like to eat. But, our rehearsal dinner is at a brewery and we are ordering a bunch of pizzas off of their catering menu. So in theory I'll be eating pizza and drinking beer the night before I'm to put on my wedding dress. So, would it be weird if I ordered a separate, healthier meal that won't make me bloated? Pizza and beer is FH's kinda thing so it was important to me that he got what he liked.

I don't think it's a big deal if you eat something else.

@Jill made a good point about eating something easy to sleep on. All the Italian food def gave me a stomach ache and sleepless night before my wedding day, but that could’ve been nerves too, a big salad sounds refreshing, I would go for that.

@Barbara…I like Barbs thinking, I would do that.

Honestly - I wasn't hungry, the nerves started for me that night Smiley smile we just had a BBQ on the venue property, we didn't want to make people drive all over trying to find a restaurant. I made myself eat breakfast the morning off, just I just had fruit and some cereal. Couldn't really eat much at lunch either Smiley smile

Normally I LOVE to eat, but I'm not a fan of being the center of attention so I think I was more nervous about everyone staring at me haha

We had Italian food the night before the wedding. I just ate normal - I stopped eating when I was full. I would say two slices of pizza and a couple beers aren't going to make any difference.

Eat what you feel like eating. I'm not sure what my FMIL has planned, but I'll eat what I feel like eating, and not eat what I don't feel like eating. Yes, you have the all mighty excuse of, "I'm just nervous about my dress," to fall back on if you get any flack.

I am going to eat whatever we end up having for rehearsal dinner but limit myself to only one or two drinks. I get majorly bloated the next day if I drink the night before and it's not worth it!

We had BBQ. I had what everyone else had, just a little less than I would eat normally and skipped the bread and potatoes (not that I'm against bread and potatoes, just didn't want to bloat). Then I swapped the beer for tequila shots Smiley smile

But I don't think it would be strange if you ordered a salad. People would understand.

I don't think it will have that much of an impact - it's one night. You will remember this forever. I would much rather remember having a great time with friends and family than eating another salad but that's just me.

My rehearsal dinner is two days before, so I'm eating my ass off as my last hurrah before the wedding dress. Water and bread the next day, lmfao.

Hey, what better opportunity for a test drive? Have one piece of pizza and one beer later in the evening and see how you feel in the AM. If you feel totally normal, I wouldn't worry at all for that day! I don't love how beer sits with me, so I personally might have one slice of pizza with something else (small salad whatever) and then a couple glasses of wine. I think having any more than a slice or 2 is a recipe for bloat, but you should test it out if you don't do it often, so that you know how you will feel the next day. I know my FH would BLOW UP, as he has a sensitivity to gluten and dairy. That kind of food would make him blow up like a balloon, but he knows this about himself.
