How much pto before wedding?

on August 23, 2019 at 7:59 AM Posted in Community Conversations 0 25
When are you taking time off before your wedding?? So far I’ve requested off just the Thursday and Friday before my wedding! I wanted to see what others are doing! I’m just not sure if it’s enough time.

I think I scheduled Wed-Fri before our Sat wedding. I have the option to take more time beforehand if I’m going to need it.

I’m taking off Thursday and Friday and my wedding is on Sunday. I have to fly from out of state Thursday, get the marriage license and Bach party Friday, rehearsal Saturday, wedding Sunday, and I already have Monday off for a holiday.

I'm planning to definitely take the Friday before and Monday after the Saturday wedding off work, but will likely end up expanding that to at least Thursday - Monday, maybe more.

I did the same as you, took off Thurs and Fri for my Sat wedding.

Both sets of parents arrived Wed night so we took them out to dinner. Then Thurs I was running around doing last minute errands (picking up linens for sweetheart table, cake stands, packing up supplies for wedding, flower arranging for rehearsal dinner) with help from my parents.

Our venue requires a mid-day rehearsal on Friday, so we did our rehearsal then I took the bridesmaids and Moms to lunch (quasi “bridal tea”, a southern thing, to thank them for being there), then the bridesmaids and I went to the nail salon and then off to the rehearsal dinner.

It was a bit jam packed, but I wanted to use more days for the honeymoon, which I ended up needing when we left three days early to beat a hurricane headed for our hometown:

Our wedding is on a Sunday, so depending on how much time I'll have saved up by then I'll either take off Thursday & Friday or just Friday at the very least. I know I'm going to be going crazy that whole week before!

Depending on how much time I have saved up by then I plan to do like you and take off Thursday and Friday to prepare for my Saturday wedding. I'd like to take off probably a week and a half total with the honeymoon then a day or two to rest after returning home before going back to work probably that Tuesday or Wednesday after the honeymoon.

I just requested for the Wednesday before, but my boss is awesome and gave me the whole week before. My last day of work is tomorrow!

My hubby & I took one week before and one week off. With a DIY-intensive DW, totally worth it!

I also took off Thursday and Friday for my Saturday wedding. I finished off the favors and signs on Thursday and we drove to our DW that night. Friday was packed with hotel logistics, rehearsal, and the welcome dinner.

I won't be taking any time off, since I feel like this is the most crucial time to be bringing in some money after how much has been spent lol. I'll be taking short days though! I'll work 6am-11am Wednesday - Friday. My FH will be working all week so I'm not too worried. I would do whatever works for you guys!

I’m taking two and a half weeks off, but we are having a destination wedding and will be away for a week and a half of that. I’m a nurse, so I work three 12 hr shifts a week, so if I’m short the PTO I’ll just pick up a day before we leave or when we get back. Honestly I’m just taking the extra time off because I don’t want to work, not because I think I’ll actually need it off!

Our wedding is on a Thurs night. I am taking off the day before the wedding and don't return until 2 days after we get back from our honeymoon. One day is to visit social security and the second day is to just unwind and relax.
