How much money are you spending on wedding favors?

Marisa, on July 7, 2018 at 8:03 PM Posted in Planning 0 11
My fiancé wants to do mini lanterns which I’m going to double as table decor. I’m thinking of just doing one per family and putting 3 or 4 on each table. Those are about $5 each. Then, for guest table assignments im thinking about doing sanddollars and putting a magnet on the back of them so they can also be reused and used as favors. My mom wants me to do the sanddollars but they are around $1.25 each. I was going to pick shells off the beach, pain them and use them. Then, our caterer throws in a hot pretzel and waterbottle that they give guests on the way out which they said people use as favors themselves! I think this is all too much and may just veto my mom and still do the shells. All these little expenses are adding up. How much are you all spending on favors?

I'm not thrilled with the lantern idea. Who really want a mini lantern to take home? You can get full size ones at Five Below for $5.

If your caterer includes a hot pretzel and a water bottle, take that and call it a day. No need for any other favor.

We didn't do favors. We wined and dined our guests well. I am sure they didn't miss a cheap favor of any kind.

We're not. They're not really necessary as your thank you to your guests is the reception. Of what you named, as a guest what I would be most satisfied with is the pretzel.

TBH all I'd want is the pretzel. And your caterer already includes it? Perf!

But we're spending a maximum of $120 on favors for 130 guests, it will be less depending on RSVPs. We're just putting two Lindor truffles in a little paper box which we will also be writing on and using as escort cards.

I spent maybe $30 for 150 guests. We did Hershey kisses in favor bags that were the color of our wedding with favor stickers on each that said “A sweet ending to a new beginning”

We're not going to do favors. Our guests are all flying in so we don't think they would keep them.

I would pick one idea and do that as a favor. It can be as simple as a bag of Hershey kisses or a box of chocolates like PPs have stated. Favors are a big thing with Italian families like mine so we got letter openers. 80
of them cost us about $500. They were pre-wrapped and secured with a ribbon printed with our names and the wedding date.

I would love a pretzel! Yum! I honestly wouldn't want/use the other stuff.

Skipping favors. Most get left or end up in a junk drawer.

We aren't doing favors! Personally I never take favors home at weddings that I attend.

In your situation I would go for the pretzel that the caterer is providing... Edible favors are always the best!

We spent about $1 per person on favors. Tic tacs with personalized labels.
