How much is your wedding invitation postage?

April, on February 7, 2015 at 1:00 PM Posted in Planning 0 36

We are trying to budget for invitations, but have no idea how much we should consider for postage!

Any helpful brides want to share what you have spent per invite?

Your advice is much appreciated!!!!

I've ordered samples of the invitations we both like. We're waiting for them to arrive. We'll then take them to the post office and have them weighed. We'll make a decision from there. Our budget will accommodate $.98/invitation.

My daughter's invitations were also .98 cents each, including the response card. Hers are classic standard invites, with no embellishment or unusual size.

The lady at the post office said it depends on how big your invitation is and how heavy. If your invitation is thick it may be .98 if it's smaller it should be .48 I got all my postage at Costco. 100 forever stamps for $50 and the stamps will always be good even when the price goes up the stamps will still be able to cover the price.

It's (hopefully) gonna cost 62p (£1.24 inc RSVP) per invite but we're allowing £2 an invite just in case we have any issues closer to the time.

47 guests, which is.. 26 households. £52 for postage.

I am getting custom postcards made on vista print. ($11+ for 50) and people can RSVP through the website.

My invite weighed 1.1 oz...so just .1 over for a regular .49 cent stamp. Oh well! Lol!! So I had to jump to .70 for my invite plus .49 for the RSVP. So total $1.19.

We did flip books, so $1.44 per invite plus 48 cents per rsvp card.

$0.49 per invite, $1.15 for Canada, England and Korea. I cheated and had $0.42 stamps from a while ago so all I had to buy were my international stamps plus $0.07 for all of my other ones. I paid less than $40 to mail almost 100 invites.

I didn't put invites on the return cards because it isn't their only option to rsvp and there were three stamps on each invite. Not everyone's cup of tea, but every dollar costs with a low budget.

In Canada they're .86 cents typically but at Costco you can get 100 for $80.59. Fortunately all of our invitations are being sent within Canada, we only have to send 34 invites and we're doing online RSVPs.

Our vistaprint invite is pretty skimpy. I am able to use plain ol'e first class stamps.

It is just a 5x7 bi-fold card with all the information inside.

I have a directions card (printed on both sides) and an RSVP post card (postcard stamp included) inside the bi-fold card.

No fancy outer or inner envelope, no ribbon or embellishments.

    Just a simple card invite.

Grand total .83 cents each. 50 invites went out.

I think mine will be $0.70 for the outside and I already put the postcard stamps on the RSVP cards inside. I asked thence ladies at the PO if they would mind weighing them for me, before I purchase any postage, and they were very happy to do that. I have one set totally assembled and in my wedding binder-I will take it by the PO when I have a chance.

So, if they are truly $0.70 then my total out-of-pocket cost for invitation postage will be $26 for 25 invitations.
