How much is enough? Love Offering.

Starsteph84, on October 15, 2010 at 10:51 AM Posted in Planning 0 15

As a member of my church, they don't charge us to have our pastor or ministers marry us, but they do ask for a love offering. I am wondering how much I should give. I know I have to base it off of what I can afford, but how much would you give? I am having both my Pastor and his wife(Ass't Pastor) marry us. I was thinking like $100 a piece? Is that too much? Not enough? Opinions please!

Does the money go to the church to use? Or to the Pastor and Ass't Pastor?

$100 each sounds reasonable to me. It is a donation so you should probably do what your budget allows.

Mrs. Schmidt, it goes to the Pastor and the Ass't Pastor. Not the church

Look at it this way..if you were not a member of the church, how would they charge? I think $100 per person sounds about right..

November2010Bride, its wayyyy more expensive for a church non-member! Like $750. There are diff prices for members, family members of members, and non members.

I think I gave my minister $100 and a small stationery set. The church I grew up in doesn't charge either. I figured anything over $100 would be insulting to her since I've known her for most of my life.

Yeah I think you should go for $100 to them and a monetary help for church use
