How much does a Maggie Sottero dress cost? Is she a "good" designer?

Danielle, on January 15, 2014 at 3:56 PM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 29

Have an appt Sunday for my very first dress shop experience! eeek!! Ive been prowling around on The Knot and other sites and majority of the dresses i like are Maggie Sottero. BUT..I cant find any pricing! If 3 shops in Pgh carry the same dress are they going to be the same price or do they vary by the shop? Of course they aren't going to post pricing on the sites to make my life easier. I dont want to spend that much on a dress I think between $1000-$2000 including alterations. By the way, how much are alterations? And is Maggie Sottero even a decent designer? Im getting married on the beach so I want something made of Chiffon and flowy but with a little bling. Any advice on other designers?

I dont know how to do that..ill try my best tho. I thought she rocked too! I printed out all the ones that I liked and then looked at the designer and 8 or 10 of them were hers!

Just click the page numbers on the bottom if you don't see it on the main page. I think its called Show me your Maggies or something like that.

I loved Maggie dresses every time I went to look, without even knowing they were hers. I ended up with Sydney and she cost $1000

I'm going to be a nerd and quote myself from another post:

It's funny about Maggie Sottoro- I hadn't liked her dresses at all in past years, in fact they were my least favorite. But in the past two years, they have been coming out with these fabulous unique, many times vintage designs. I saw an interview with Randy Fenoli talking about the same thing.

I love her dresses! Most of what I liked were Maggie Sottero dresses. I ended up with the Adorae...and I can't wait to walk down the aisle in it!

Mine was $800 @ bestbridalprices.com, and ran around $950 in the salons. That's on the lower end, but most are around $1500 and as Ashley stated, usually not over $2100.

For the quality of the dress, I think they are very reasonably price. And most have a corset back, and I definitely needed that!

Danielle, if your wedding is this September, then I would suggest ordering a gown sooner than later, especially if you're looking at Maggie gowns or other designers of the same quality. (Mine was by Sophia Tolli, and she was a Maggie designer for 10 years before branching out on her own.)

Maggie gowns (and others in the same quality/price range) will take 5-7 months to arrive. My gown was ordered in mid-August and arrived in late-February.
