So, I went to a bridal expo last night and I won free Save The Dates. Woohoo!! I'm very excited about that. BUT, the vendor that I won them from wants you to order wedding invitations from them as well. Understandable. But considering that I'm no where near invitation time, I have no frame of reference for invitation pricing. I just tried to go to Vistaprint to see what their pricing was because I figured that would be one of the lowest price-points. But I figured I would also just come to you guys for reference.

What did you guys pay for your invitations?

Invites can range from really expensive to affordable. Digital printing is your best bet for a decent price. If you get into engraving, thermography, embossing, etc. the price goes up.

We spent $200 on our invitations (75 of them). We didn't want to spend much on them because very few people are going to actually save forever anyway- probably only my mom and me.

I got mine from Vistaprint, on sale. I love how they turned out! I saved so much I was able to upgrade to the linen finish paper (their nicest paper) and RSVP envelopes with our address pre-printed on them and still spent less than other sites I looked at. We spent $177 on them (including shipping) for 90 invitations, accommodation cards, RSVP cards and custom RSVP envelopes.

Wedding paper divas - 40 invitations, rsvp cards, belly bands and double envelopes for $220 and that was with 20% off.

I recommend asking your vendor for a quote. As Jaz stated, cost of printing is based on many factors. LindaBean is also correct that digital is typically the lowest price, but again, it depends on the type of card and additional items you choose. Vistaprint is often the lowest price point, because the product and customer service is also the lowest quality. Ask if your vendor has an album of samples to view, and go from there. You can also give the vendor a budget and see what they have to offer at that price range.

$314 at Vistaprint: 200 STD Magnets, 200 invites, 200 RSVP cards, 250 Thank You cards, plain white envelopes for all of them, and 980 return address labels. Love me some VistaPrint Smiley smile And I went through ebates when it was double cash back so I got I think $25 back in cash.

We spent about $500 through Wedding Paper Divas. That was for 40 invitations, inner and outer envelopes, two sets of enclosure cards, RSVP cards with plain white envelopes and thank you cards. WPD was having a 25% off sale - the price for everything would have been over $700 without the discount. We also did a few upgrades, like nicer inner and outer envelopes, adding pearl shimmer, opting for a foil stamped design on the invites, etc.

Final cost $2.48 each for 60 pocketfold invitations (spend just under $150 total) that included....

    Pocketfold with mat.

Matted accommodations, RSVP and reception cards.

    Inner, outer and RSVP envelopes.

The inner envelopes had coordinating liners.

Belly bands and belly band 'seal'.

Photos are of our mock-up; the font and belly band seal have both been changed, but you get the idea.

ETA: I'm also located in NJ! Somerset county here!!!

More then I thought we would. We paid around $1050 for 110 invitations on Minted.com - included heavier cardstock, invitation, speckled envelope with glitter liner, RSVP card and then information card.
