My FH and I are disagreeing on the cost of our honeymoon. We both would like to go to Aruba and are looking to go 8-10 days in January/Feb 2015. We are looking at all-inclusive resorts because we both like to indulge while on vaca. It looks like for about 9 days in January it will be like $6500 for...

He thinks this is way too much to spend.

What did you all spend for your honeymoon? Is $6500 really ridiculous??

We definitely splurged on ours, we are paying for it ourselves so we figured why not. We are staying at a Sandals in Antigua for 10 days...CAN'T WAIT!

ETA: Idiot didn't say how much we spent lol...10K for the whole trip!

After everything it will probably between $4000 - $6000. We are going on an 11 day cruise to the Panama Canal. I booked fights with points and my dad booked the one hotel night we needed with his points. 1 more week until I leave!!!

We are doing a destination wedding in Riviera Maya and for a week for the both of us, our accommodations are $2422. This includes taxes and transportation to and from the airport, but does not include airfare. I expect another $800 for airfare when all is said and done.

If you are not wed to Aruba, branch out to the DR, Mexico and some of the other islands that do AIs. You'll probably save some money. Although my travel agent told me Mexico is the best of them all, because they have hospitality down pat.

We are going on a cruise to the Bahamas for 8 days cost 1700.00 plus we will have the cost of the shore excursions. I say if thats what you want to do then do it. I know so many couples that say we will do a small inexpensive honeymoon because of the cost of the wedding and do there big honeymoon later. Problem is later never comes. This is your time shoot for the stars!!!

Fh and I never left the country together. We are planning our HM November of next year and are going to use a special savings, we started together when we got engaged. It was going to be our wedding fund, but for some reason we would each add a potion of checks and then make wedding deposits with just our regular non savings checking accounfs (it felt less expensive that way, instead of making all payments right before the wedding) So, good news is we have 6k ish, we decided even before postponing our first wedding it would be for our honeymoon now we just act like the money does not exsit.

.We could have used that money to make our wedding happen nstead of pushing it back but for one reason or another we knew we wanted a nice HM, escpecially since we never traveled out of the country together Smiley smile still don;t know where we are going. I'll look it up at the beginning of the year Smiley smile

To answer you question, no I don't think it is to much at all Smiley smile

We are going to florida. So far we booked our flights. We got a great deal, round trip tickets, non-stop for $400. We figure we'll book the car soon but we'll wait until we are closer to the date to book the hotel. We want to play it by ear see what we feel like doing. I am going to look up stuff to do in florida. I know I want to swim with dolphins and go to the harry potter park. We are hoping to keep it under $5,000

We did all inclusive in Aruba (incl flights, via JetBlue vacations) and paid about $3800 for 6 nights. All in all, I'd say we spent about $5k, and we loved every minute of it. If the $6500 works for you guys, go for it! It's a once in a lifetime opportunity and I'm certain that you'll never regret saying "I'm so glad we splurged on ourselves!".

We spent 7 days in a cabin in the Smoky Mountains. Spent $1100 for the cabin (it was a present from his parents), $800 in spending money, and $246 in gas (we have a AWD SUV).

I'm pretty sure that our honeymoon is going to cost more than our wedding. We're going to Bora Bora as well. But we'll never get an opportunity like this again.

7 day cruise with airfare and excursions so far is about $3000. I'm assuming it will be another $2000 or so still. We are staying a night before and after in Miami. Plus any money we need for souvenirs, the casino, drinks, etc.

We are taking a minimoon right after the wedding for 3 days in Vegas, only $600 for flights and hotels. We are going to take a bigger trip in the spring, our budget will be between $3000 and $5000. Of course the lower the better - we want to start a family soon!

My Mom's awesome. She's actually paying for our honeymoon. She didn't really get "super" into the planning of the actual wedding. Think it may have been too much for her but planning trips is a cake walk for her.

$2798 Sandals in Jamaica for 5 nights- It helps that we live in FL, so airfare is a bit lower for us.

Were going to maui. The air will be around 2k and the hotel is 2500 for 8 nights. I know food there is really expensive so it will probably end up being around 7500 when all is said and done (rental car, tours, etc) but I wanted to go there and my fiancé said were only having one honeymoon so we should make it memorable.

We're going to London, Paris, & Germany.! I'm that older bride, and have NEVER been outside No. America. With 3 kids & several years being a single working mum, there was just never that extra time or money. So I'm thrilled that my FH on learning I've never been "anywhere" except the Caribbean, said "we're going to Europe for our honeymoon." He's been around the world almost literally, so he's excited to take me (we're saving equally for it), and I'm excited to be going with someone who "knows the ropes." We figure it'll cost $5-6 K. Can you imagine how thrilled I am???!!!
