How much did you spend on the Venue?

Hi all - I know it depends on an individual's budget, however I'm looking at this barn in my area as a potential venue. I'd have to use one of their food and drink vendors. My Friday date in 2017 is going to be 5,000. I want to look around because I still have time and that seems steep. I'm curious,...

My venue is a B&B and barn, it's $6500 which includes ceremony, access to the whole property and a room from Friday afternoon to Sunday afternoon. Tables, chairs, linens, a DJ, and DOC. So depending on what they are or aren't including 5k seems normal. I looked at a few barn venues in my area and they were all between $3500 which included nothing, to $6500.

Our barn venue is $3,900 and we can hire our own caterer vs going through the venue's.

Barn weddings in the Central PA area (within an hour's radius of Harrisburg) can range as low as $3,000 and as high as $10,000 due to the fact that some require you to use their preferred caterer, and in general, those catering options start at $60 per head. You can find cheaper caterers in our area (think BBQ), but oftentimes the venues who do allow you to bring your own caterer will charge more for their facility rental charge.

My venue was $600 (Saturday in Sept). We decided to rent out the day before as well at a discount bringing our total to $1000. That way we were able to decorate in peace and have our rehearsal and none of it was rushed. It included chairs and we were able to rent tables and linens from them very cheap (I want to say $80 total but I don't remember). We also rented their sound system for $35 and paid them to clean up ($100) so we didn't have to (other than removing our things of course). It was a stunning historic venue but fairly small (max of about 50 people seated, far more total but that was the max for seating at tables for dinner so therefore it was all we could invite-if we'd had cocktails only it could have been more).

My venue fee was $4750, for both ceremony & reception space, after $1500 off-season discount and a $500 discount through our wedding planner. Includes main reception space plus atrium, the tables, chairs, plates/silverware, basic linens (we are upgrading), AV equipment and use of LCD tvs, customizable lighting, coat check/concierge, bridal suite, staff and bartenders. Our venue is in a nice part of the city and is pretty new/modern.

    For the synagogue: $1,500.

For the luncheon after the ceremony: $32. (The only cost for the private dining room was a 2% surcharge added on to the food.)

For the at-home reception: $750. (We rented a private club owned by a friend.)

We are paying 4290 for our venue on a Sunday. That includes a chapel, dinning area, and reception hall. They also provide a bartender and security guard as needed for state laws. We get a 3 hour meeting to plan all the decorations, linens, and center pieces that they provide, set up, and clean up. It also includes streaming our wedding online to a private site and a video of the wedding.

The rental fee at our venue was $3,000. We paid an additional $400 for an extra hour of time before the hour and a half we were already given before the ceremony (we did a first look and took most of our pictures before the wedding). There was a $700 fee to have the ceremony there as well. That included all the set up and clean up of ceremony chairs, chivari chairs and tables for the reception, linens, china/silverware/glassware/etc., cake cutting, bridal attendant and greeter for guests. Our venue was also our caterer and open bar, so that's really how they make their money! All in it cost us $15,000 to have our wedding at that venue.

ETA: Our wedding was a Saturday evening in July!

Ours was normally 4000 for the weekend with the 8 bedroom B&B and the barn. My mom is the owners insurance person, so she waived her fee for the year and we got the place free for the weekend.

This is my venue..it's also right on the water so kinda get the best of both worlds. It has a full bridal suit on the third floor as well as a man cave in the basement. Kind of over budget but it's a state of the art barn and there really isn't much in my area..so I went for it and I'm so excited!

Ours was $7500. October Friday wedding. 501 Union in Brooklyn. That covered only the space. No rentals or bar package (which also had to be provided by venue).

My venue rental fee is $3000 that's for ceremony and reception. It's an ocean front property, so it doesn't come with anything really lol
