How Much did you Spend on Decor and Extras?

Light, on December 26, 2019 at 11:45 PM Posted in Wedding Reception 0 11

Hey Ladies,

Here is what I'm looking at paying for my last few possible vendors, and so far we have managed to stay under $4,000. Here are the prices we are being offered by the last few vendors.

Magic Mirror: $595 for 3 hours

Decorations and Linens: $600 ( Package includes everything from full-table layouts to centerpieces and a choice of thrones.)

Dessert Table: $134

I'm half and half on the magic mirror, and my fiance thanks that our venue and music should be entertainment enough. I do want nice looking table, but I'm unsure if $600 is a good price, I'm not sure how much I want to sit in a throne, are they comfortable?

We're spending $2,335. The price includes wedding party flowers, 2 throne chairs, pipe and drape, table linen, chair covers, centerpieces, sashes, chargers, wine glasses, napkins, table setup for wedding party and guest tables, linen for gift table and cake table, and up lights.

That's the prices I expected, I'm a little worried about the cheap price tag.

Well that's a plus. I wouldn't worry about the price. You can put more money towards something else since the decorations won't break the bank.

Honestly the magic mirror photo booth is awesome. all my guests loved it! if you can swing it in your budget i would suggest going for it! plus you'll get like a cute little album of some photos and you should get all the digital photos that were taken!

my mirror was included with my DJ price at $1400. the only decorations i paid for was the ceremony decorations and that cost me $1550. but it was so worth it. bouquets i bought sola wood flowers off etsy for $400. the rest of the decor and centerpieces were DIY which ran me about $300. linens were included with my venue.

I’m keeping decor cost low.. so far I’ve budgeted $260 and I’m within budget. That’s for linens, table runners, centerpieces, cake stand, all flowers including bouquets, lighting, signage, card box, guest book, etc. I do not have any entertainment extras at the time... I’m thinking about that. (Just a DJ currently). Our overall budget is around $5,000 right now. I think a throne would be a nice touch, but you might be able to rent it cheaper.

Hahaha research and find the cheapest option before doing or buying anything! I planned out the event in an order that saved money too. I’m doing cupcakes on cupcakes stands as centerpieces to eliminate cost of florals and a cake table. I made the cupcake stands from glass dollar tree items ($26 for 13) and gorilla glue. I’m using the same as a cake stand. I got table linens and runners from efavormart.com .. table runners were like $.70/ each and table clothes were like $6/each for floor length. (Both on sale) I hand made all the flowers and bouquets with dollar tree roses. Our guest book is a painting my artist friend is doing... I bought a $40 certificate for her to do a custom canvas from a fundraiser a year ago that I am using. Lighting I’m diy.. Walmart has Spot lights that have reviews from uplighting that work well... and I just bought Christmas lights on sale from Lowe’s for $3/strand. I attached some photos.. Some of it’s not extravagant but I’m Proud of the work. I pretty much look online constantly for sales before I buy! How Much did you Spend on Decor and Extras? 1

That all looks lovely, I especially love the wreath and flower arrangments. I have a bridesmaid who is obsessed with DIY and she's been trying to convince me to let her make all my centerpieces.

Thanks! DIY is not easy, But with time and a little skill it can be done. I’m shocked I haven’t ran into too many hiccups, but the flowers did take about 3 times to perfect.
