Ashley, on July 2, 2025 at 4:29 PM Posted in Planning 2 3
Hi! Getting married next fall and we’re going to supply our own alcohol. We hired bar tenders which comes with all the soda, mixers, fruit etc. I have absolutely no idea how much beer, wine and alcohol to buy! To give you a little insight, it’s about 120 people and everyone coming are drinkers. Not alcoholics but my family and in laws like to party! Lol help Smiley smile

Hi -- this is what our venue sent us ---

Below is a sample equation that most of our clients have found as a great starting point to calculate the quantity of alcohol they will need. This will be based on your total drinking guest countrel="nofollow" .

    Drinking Guest Count (200) X Hours the Bar is Open (4) X Approximately (1 – 1.2) Drink per Person per Hour = 800 – 960 servings approximately

You can then break up the servings into beer, wine, spirits, sparkling wine, etc.

24 servings in a case of beer

Approximately 48 servings in a case of wine (about 4 pours per bottle)

Approximately 22 servings per 1.0 liter bottle of spirits

Approximately 5 – 6 servings in a bottle of sparkling wine (depending on how big the servings are)

I hope this is helpful. Good luck!

Whether or not you have a BevMo in your area, you can use their online calculator to determine the amount of alcohol you will need.
