How many wedding dress shops did you go too?

Hi ladies! I am just wondering how many wedding/bridal shops you went to before you found "the dress". I am wondering how many different places I should go to to make sure I don't limit myself but I also don't want to over do it either. Thanks!

I went to one boutique and tried on 4 or 5 dresses. Then I went to david's bridal and tried on another 5 dresses. Found my dress at DB Smiley smile

I went to one shop that carried most of the designers I loved. I tried on about 8 dresses before I found "the one"!

One. Was in and out in an hour. Our DB consultant was awesome even though they were crazy busy. Unknowingly scheduled my appt during their $99 sale. Got a great deal.

Make sure you play with the accessories. If a dress is almost "the one" but missing something, try some accessories. Adding a veil or sash can completely change a dress.

I went to two shops, I was supposed to go to a third but cancelled because I was sure they'd be out of my price range and I already loved a dress. I ended up getting my dress at the first shop I went to, I think it was the 3rd dress I tried on. I tried on my Maggie Sottero dream dress at the second shop that was a little above my budget but surprisingly I didn't think it looked that great on me, ha ha.

Honestly after the two shops I was pretty exhausted and didn't even want to look anywhere else, even though I had expected to never want to stop. Plus I was pretty confident in the dress at the first shop since not one dress in the second shop was even close to it even though they were more expensive.

I made one appointment at one salon with the plan to try on Amsale dresses. My consultant also pulled some other designers with similar styles. I tried on 11 dresses total, and I bought the very last one I tried. The one hour appointment was enough time to try on all 11 dresses (the second place and winning dresses I tried on twice each) and to get measured for the order. But I like things quick and no-nonsense. I think I could probably be her easiest appointment in a while, despite the number of dresses I tried.

I really thought I'd need to go to a million appointments, but it was much easier than I thought. Ruling out things you don't like as you try them on will really narrow down your options in a good way!

Definitely don't schedule more than 2-3 appointments in 1 day, you will be totally overwhelmed and exhausted!

I made 2 appointments for 1 day and found 3 dresses I really liked, 1 dress that could be "the one". The designer of that dress was having a trunk show for the next weekend, so I made 2 appointments for the next weekend (1 at the same place, 1 at a different place). That day I found the dress! It was a different dress, but similar style and by the same designer!

I went to 5 shops; 3 regular and 2 resale/off the rack style. I wanted a very specific dress, but was having a hell of a time tracking down a sample within a 300 mile radius. I kept going to the other stores hoping I would find something that "talked me out of" my dream dress. It doesn't work.... if you have your heart set on something, try it on (if it's in your budget). After calling 27 stores, I finally found the dress I was looking for, tried it on, and loved it as much as I thought I would. I ended up going back to my favorite local shop because they carried that brand and offered to place the order once I tried on the dress. Ultimately do what suits you, but all those dresses certainly started to blend together....

I went ahead and made 2 appointments in one day so we will see how that goes! Depending on how those 2 places go I may check out different places or I may not. Thanks for the help! Smiley smile

5 dress stores, at least 10 dresses at each, and I found it near the end of the last store appointment. If you find it, get it, but also don't be discouraged if you have to go to a couple places (gotta kiss a few frogs!)

Trust your consultant. She sees a million dresses and what you think you want, may be something other than what you fall in love with. I thought I wanted a fit and flare, and ended up with an A line that I absolutely love.

I went to two different stores. Then I made a third trip, went back to the first of the two stores and found my dress.

Technically only one bridal shop- one bridal shop and one evening wear/boutique shop. I was on my way to a custom gown and found something at the evening wear store. Super happy. Custom is stressful. lol

I went to 5 stores (6 if you count 2 different David Bridals as separate). I found my dress at the last store. --well one place wasn't a store but a "bridal sale" at a college.. after finding nothing that looked on me I walked out in 5 minutes...

Also, don't wait for that "moment" where you cry and all that drama cause most girls don't have that moment, so you'll just be setting yourself up for failure if you wait for the moment. The moment is just for TV really...

5 stores. And then I went back to one of the stores to see a dress that I couldn't get out of my head and purchased it.

3! I did 2 appointments on a Saturday and one on the next day, Sunday. My sister was home from NYC so I wanted to make the most of the weekend. I would have kept looking if I hadn't found my dress.

I feel crazy for how many shops I went to after reading this but I went to 9-10 different dress shops! In each store, I maybe tried on 3-10 dresses. The last store is where I found the dress. I'm a plus size girl so my selections were limited in what I could try on.

I had appointments at 4 different stores over a couple days, but ended up finding my dress at the first store! I think I tried on 6-8 dresses, and the one I picked was somewhere in the middle!
