How many times have you been engaged/married?

First engagement and marriage for both of us.

Oh lawd, "first and only" within the first two comments. Awesome. It's gonna be an awesome day.

Second marriage for me, second engagement. First for both with him.

Hahaha. Oh man. "first and only marriage" Haha. Those people kill me.

Anyways, for both of us this will be our first engagement and first marriage. Although, my HS boyfriend kept telling me he was going to propose after school, but he was just doing that so I would keep paying his car and cell phone bills. The next boyfriend even took me ring shopping. But he was just trying to keep me there because I paid a lot of his living expenses and knew I would leave otherwise since he hit me a lot. And now I'm with FH and we have been together over 4 years and I'm finally happy and decided to no longer settle in relationships solely for the people who made me think I was lucky to get anyone at all. I actually really like FH. Silly concept!

2nd wedding, first ceremony was very small with just dinner. FH is giving me the wedding I always wanted and as he says the wedding I deserve.

First time for both of us also.

3rd marriage for me and first for fh. I married my last husband (20 years) and thought it was "my last" but alas Leukemia took him from me. So, please dont say "my only or my last" you just never know the cards God will deal you. Im twice blessed though because God also gave me my next husband!

For me this is my first (and hopefully ONLY!) for both, but this will be FH's 2nd (and last!) marriage.

This is my first engagement. FH proposed to his ex-girlfriend a few years back and that story is a mess.

FH and I got engaged once, but I asked a few months later if we could go back to just being in a relationship. We knew we wanted to get married to each other, but we weren't ready at that time. We had just moved in together and we're going through an adjustment period. We broke off the engagement, and stayed together. Turned out to be the best decision as it took stress off of us and we ended up building our relationship even more.

The first time we were engaged... He brought the wedding band instead of the ering to ask me. We were up in the mountains and the elevation combined with the salty food and lots of wine --my finger became swollen the next morning. The band got stuck on and we had to cut it off! He ended up welding a piece of spring as a "promise ring" until we could get both the band and e ring resized (now both are slightly too big because my finger was still swollen when I got them resized! They sometimes slip and I have to be careful with my e ring). The whole first engagement felt like bad luck (we don't even believe in bad luck!!), but if something could go bad, it did.

Anyways, I broke off the engagement and told him to ask me again when he was ready. Eight months later, we decided to move closer to my family, and he asked me on our last day in Utah under delicate arch. We spent the day traversing the Rocky Mountains in our vw bus. It was literally the perfect day for us. This engagement has been so much better than the last time. We're ready to get married. And are firm in our belief that we can weather the bad times together and enjoy the good.

So it's our second engagement... To each other

And I can't wait to solemnize our relationship.

I was engaged years ago. He got me a ring and I bought a dress, and that's as far as it went. He never wanted to talk wedding or plan anything. He kept promising we were saving up for the wedding, but I found out he was spending all our wedding money on his growing alcohol problem. There were other reasons as well, but I ended things, and never looked back!
