How many ring bearers?

Shannon, on January 25, 2016 at 5:38 PM Posted in Planning 0 16

I was just wondering how many ring bearers all of you have? I have a cousin who has three boys (the oldest will be 6, almost 7 when we get married). Are three ring bearers too many? If so, what other jobs could we have for them? They are all very near and dear to us! Thanks!

They could carry a sign down the aisle, like " here comes the bride" or " here comes the love of your life"

The more little kids....the more....well, little kids.

I'm not a fan of the signs personally...why can't they just be guests?

I had two ring bearers and two flower girls. One held the pillow with the rings holding the hand of the youngest boy. Yes, please, no signs of 'here comes the bride'. We all know she's coming. Smiley laugh Smiley laugh

Personally, I find the signs pretty cheesy. But at least the "here comes the bride" ones are better than the "last chance to run" variety. I really hate anything that makes it out that the groom is being forced into it or that marriage is something to run from. Like the cake toppers where the bride is dragging the groom down the aisle. If he doesn't want to marry you maybe this is a bad idea anyhow. You could have all three as ring bearers except with only 2 rings I'm really not sure what the third kid will do besides walk down the aisle. Could you have them carry the props for a unity ceremony if you're having one? Like candles/jar of sand/whatever it is (if it's a jar of sand maybe make it a plastic jar since, you know, kids).

I agree with Celia, why not just have them be guests?

They are all three too special to us to just be guests. 1 or 2 of them will definitely be ring bearers, we just weren't sure on the 3rd. We thought about making the oldest one a junior groomsman (my fiance's "buddy" he calls him), but we aren't sure.

I plan on just having my son as ring bearer if he's able to. He will only be a year and half so he may need some help.

We're having three ring bearers. We're not sure what they're actually going to do besides look adorable but we're going to make it work! They are all three FHs nephews, and we couldn't just pick one. We probably won't do a sign because I'm not a huge fan, but it will all workout! Smiley smile

One ring bearer and one flower girl; if I had to make the decision all over again, I would have had none. Their mother begged me to let them - it was her daughter's "last chance" to be a flower girl. I should have had my head examined ...

I have two, only because I have two nephews the same age (4). Otherwise, I wouldn't have any. Not having any flower girls.

One or none. Depends whether his mom can get the time off work to make the trip.
