How many no-shows did you have?

Jessica, on July 17, 2019 at 1:20 PM Posted in Planning 0 22

Curious as to number of people on your guest list, how many RSVPed Yes, then No, and of those who RSVPed "Yes", how many didn't show? How did you deal with those? I would be so hurt and also angry I spent all that money on them for them to not show!

1, as far as I know. It was one out of a couple. No dealing, other than being understanding— things happen. In their case, their childcare bailed at the last minute so they couldn’t adjust plans. The only thing that was a bummer for me, is one of my cousin’s kids from the other side of my family had decided to come and stay nearby to “babysit” a couple of the other cousins’ kids— I feel badly bc she would have been thrilled to watch this particular kiddo too and then he could’ve come and not had to miss out. I know he was bummed to miss it, but it is what it is.

Of course it’s obnoxious when no shows just no show for no good reason. But the only course of action is : forgive or not forgive. Just depends on the situation.

We had about 8 people that RSVP'd yes but did not show up which was sad.

I think we had 2 or 3. One shouldn't have been counted as a yes but we got word literally the day after the final balance was paid that he couldn't make it.

I had 2 people not show up. I didn't even notice it, but once I realized it I wasn't too happy.

They never even gave me an explanation or anything.

5 out of probably 185 didn't show up. I didn't even notice until I got picture back - looking through going "oh yeah, so and so never came, did they?" There's really nothing to "do" about it.

We had 1 out of 118, but we knew they wouldn't be coming about a week prior. It was an elderly guest and they had some unexpected health issues come up.

I'm guessing you guys had an adult wedding? Us too. We have this really flaky friend - we love her but she is SO flaky and is always blaming it on the kids. Wouldn't even have one person out of the couple go, just wouldn't show.

I totally get if it's truly an emergency, if you're in the hospital, if a death in the family occurred, that sort of thing. I don't approach someone just waking up and saying "I'm too tired to go" or "eh, I didn't have a plan on how to get there and now I have no way to get there" as "things happen".

We had 7 no-shows! Not a call, no text and no regard sent for missing! LOL But we understand whoever was there were the ones meant to be there. We had a really good amount overall.

Whoa, really? Where did you seat the extra people? Did you follow up on people who didn't send in their RSVPs or just assume they weren't coming?

It was minor thing and an easy fix. My hall coordinator was fantastic and brought chairs out so quickly and the situation fixed that I didn't even know about the situation until later on at the reception. I followed up with them and never heard back so I didn't expect them to show up.

I hope I don’t have any no shows at the wedding, I did have a couple people who rsvped yes and then later said they couldn’t make it, but they let me know as soon as they could. I do have to eat the cost of them not coming since our numbers were already due but at least it’s not a surprise the day of the wedding.

We just got married on July 6. 28 ppl didn’t show which by the time you add in food, drinks, cupcakes, linens, centerpieces-it cost us close to $1000! A few of them had valid reasons. The rest had better things to do I guess. The one I’m super pissed about is a friend who told me two weeks before she had something come up. I told her I hoped everything was okay and let me know if she needed anything. She never responded but she was dumb enough to put on social media she went to a birthday party.
