How many months/days before your wedding are/did you have your Bridal Shower?

Raven*, on October 29, 2013 at 6:45 PM Posted in Planning 0 36

I am getting married in June and am considering having my Bridal Shower in mid-March because I will be on spring break from grad school. My mom thinks its WAY to early, she says I should have it the first weekend of May.

How many months/days prior are you having yours?

No bridal shower, I don't want one. Me and a couple of my close friends will just do dinner or something.

I'm getting married in April and my shower will be February 15th, but originally I considered the beginning of January. My sister lives out of state and she is hosting so I was open to whatever worked best for her. I think March is fine, because its a good time for you and that's what is important.

Mine was Oct 20, 8 weeks before my date. I think March would be fine. My cousin had hers in June for a September wedding.

I'm with FutureMrsHicks..I'm not having one unless someone throws me one but I'm not throwing myself one. I don't think your bridal shower is too early at all. I mean what's the difference between having it in March and May anyway? lol I just don't see much of a difference

Good! cause, the closer to the wedding is just more planning stress to deal with as the wedding nears.

My shower was early September so we could still enjoy the nice weather and not get mixed up with all the holidays. So 3 1/2 months in advance...

Wedding April 26th and bridal shower March 15. We were going to do February but were nervous about snow. So we decided March would be best.

3 weeks before the wedding. I do not recommend it. It's just with my MOH's job and everyone's time schedule, it's really the only time we could do it. It was still sort of nice to have a weekend away from all the wedding stuff since we did my bacherolette the same weekend.

We are getting married on 2/22/14 and we are having the shower on 1/4, and the bachelorette party on 1/17.

I am not having a bridal shower, but the ones that I have attended are usually two weekends before the wedding, but not sure what is the rule on that one

Mine is actually the day before the wedding (I know -_-) but that is mainly because everyone is out of town and it's just going to be a dinner/social thing.

Yes, I think you're fine! My sister just asked when I wanted mine and I told her the eight week range also! I'm glad it sounds like that is common.

Both of mine were surprises. One was 3 months before and one was 2 weeks before.
