Hey hey everyone,

I am wondering how many hours everyone hired their photographers for your wedding? Our venue is all inclusive with the standard of 5 hours for our photographer but I am a little worried it may not be enough time. I also have a videographer for 5 hours as well so I am feeling it may be enough but having a bit of doubt.

Thanks Smiley smile

We are booking our photographer for 4 hours on our wedding day; she created a complete schedule where she is able to get the first look, family formals, bridal party formals, B&G formals, the entire ceremony, more pictures after the ceremony, our grand entrance to the reception, first dance, father daughter and mother son dance. It definitely can be done!!

Ask the vendor, "Why is 5 standard?" I.e.,If you're getting ready at the venue, 5 will be enough to get thirty minutes of you getting ready, thirty for ceremony, and a four hour reception.

If you get ready at another location, factor that in. If you have an unusually large family, factor in tone for more photos. If you want images of the venue before everyone arrives, more time...

We had one photog for 6 hours, and it was fine - our ceremony and reception were co-located, and we dressed about a ten minute drive away. We laid out travel times with the photog, and agreed on a photo "must list", and based on that decided 6 was enough.

Bottom line: you need to determine what you want before you set the number of hours. Many brides choose 8 hours because it's always more than enough, but if it's a budget issue, lay out a plan and work back to the hours.

Our photographer is from getting ready until the party is over. It's standard for her, not hourly.

My ceremony will be at 4pm and reception to follow at 5. I'm having my photographer from 2-8 total of 6 hours. So that I can get the getting ready photos, during the ceremony, all of the important photos during the reception and then I also wanted some sunset photos. I think all depends of what photos your looking to have taken. And if 5 hours will be enough to get everything you want.

I had an afternoon wedding and it was only a few hours long. If memory serves me, my photographer (1, a family friend who has been a photographer for 40 years) was there for about 6-7 hours total. If your wedding is more than a few hours, 8-10 is more standard.

Our contract is for 10 hrs of photography & videography. Our venue (ceremony and reception) is booked for 5 hours. So the remaining 5 hrs of photography will be the getting ready photos pre ceremony at the hotel & first look & bridal party pics.

5.5 hours for photography and videography. That includes everything leading up to the cake cutting, including getting ready pictures and one hour during the reception when our videographer will record guest testimonials to include in our wedding video. Our send off is not all that special.

We're having the photographer there for twelve hours but the officiant is wearing a GoPro during the ceremony so we are skipping the videographer.

The standard for my photographer is 8. I can purchase additional hours. Once I have my plan figured out for my day of, I might add an additional hour. Not sure
