How many hours a week do you spend on planning?

Vanessa, on October 16, 2014 at 6:55 PM Posted in Planning 0 22

I feel like I spent around 5 hours a day (Mon-Fri while at work) planning or on WW. Usually I save the big projects and decisions for the weekend so I'm thinking I spend about 30 hours a week planning. How about you guys?

I find it depends on the week. Some weeks I feel like all I do is wedding stuff, like the 30 hours a week you mentioned. Other weeks I don't do a whole lot. I went a whole week without being on WW .... but I have to admit, part of that was due to the great WW crash of 2014 LOL

Some weeks WW is open 24/7 at work on my second screen though, and when there is a popcorn thread I just can't keep up!

I'm on WW about 40 hours a week. Smiley smile

I do wedding planning about an hour or two a week. There's not much left for us to do at this point.

YES... same here... I try and keep it up in a screen to follow some of the fun but other days I get slammed and feel like I missed out!

I went a couple weeks without planning anything because I got overwhelmed... but my BM's surprised me and came to town and helped me move past it and get focused!

Gosh I don't think I spend that much time planning, but at least a couple hours a day thinking about the wedding, or surfing pintrest for ideas. Like you I save the actual projects for the weekend.

I'm not doing a lot of planning right now, but I am on here pretty much 8 - 5 Monday through Friday while at work, Thursday evenings when I'm in class and randomly in the evenings on my phone.

That sounds like a lot! Are you going to hire a DOC or Month of to make sure all your work goes smoothly the day of?

Well, today was the first day I spent all day on WW, well almost all day. Lol. I'll probably end up hooked and spend all my time on here! Lol.

30 hours a week!? I don't spend any time planning. Everything is booked, now we are just making payments. Up next is dress shopping November and sending save the dates. What are you planning? Like the decor? What takes up so much time? Not asking to be snarky, just asking because I really don't understand! But I'm also going simple at reception- nice centerpieces and table numbers, that's it

I feel the same way Lauren! I'm reading this trying to figure out how I could spend that much time planning. I'm worried that I'm missing alot or waiting too long!!

I spend about 2 hours a day on WW and planning the wedding but I probably spend another 5 hours a day thinking about the Budget and trying to figure out if I'm going to have enough money to pay for everything I want for my wedding.

Some days I think about it, get a few things done, other days I don't think of it at all. So far I feel like it's been really fun and not stressful, so it must be the right balance. Maybe that will change closer to the date... haha. I usually spend an hour or so doing wedding stuff on the days I am into it, on the computer after dinner.

Its not all planning. Most is browsing for ideas for different things. My venue provides a lot of things but I'm crafty and my mom is crafty, so I felt like saving some money and doing a bit on my own. Mostly its searching for ideas for the little things. We have our engagement photos coming up soon so that is my main focus right now... location, shot list, outfits, hair, etc. I do have a DOC who will take care of everything in the end, but I'm just so freaked out that I'll forget some stupid little thing.

I use all my spare moments crafting- or so it feels. I hate crafting. I have no idea why I chose to go the DIY route!

I work from home, so I find it sooo easily to get distracted like here on WW. I was on for a while then forgot about it and now I've been back the past few days constantly. I'm at the point where everything that can/should be planned is. What still needs to be planned is too far in advance to work how those final details to do that. So, even though I probably shouldn't have any planning gong on I still like I'm doing it all the time in researching my already made decisions, finding more gifts for my girls, changing my mind about my decisions :p

Maybe 2-3 hours a day? It depends on if there's something specific I'm actively looking for or planning versus just wasting time.

I did in the beginning (well maybe not 5 per day) but now that everything is planned I spend maybe 1 a week looking over my plan to ensure I don't want to change anything. I will admit my whole wedding was planned while at work in my old job because I was that bored!!!

@KayWill we're date twins! Smiley laugh

And in the beginning I did a lot, not so much now besides just being curious on WW. I definitely go in waves- some weeks very little planning and other weeks I just binge on planning and prep
