HOW MANY DRESS FITTINGS DO YOU REALLY NEED??

I was told 3. That seems pretty odd. My wedding is in July and I have one at the end of April, May and then June. How many dress fittings did you have and what exactly goes on during the fittings?

It depends on how many minor details you dislike. Do your first fitting early so that most of the work is done, but if by the first fitting not much is done at all and then nothing much is done at the second fitting, time to find another seamstress fast!

I had one after the dress initially came in since I need to have it shortened and some hooks put on the back so I could bustle the dress. A few months later I went back in after the alterations were done to make sure everything looked all right and fit. Everything did so they said they would hold onto it until I needed to pick it up. So I only needed 2 fittings.

I have 3 just cuz I wanted the dress changed some (its a beach wedding so i didn't want it as poofy and i wanted a bow added) and that would change the length and so they can't alter that without me trying on the dress again plus the top was to big so they wanted that to be more fitted before other things too, but I think 3 fittings is about normal from what I've heard.
