How many cookies?

I live in the Pittsburgh Pa area and it's a big tradition here to have a cookie buffet at your wedding... In lew of favors we will be having a cookie and candy bar set up with little to go boxes for everyone to make their own treats.... We will have between 60-75 people at our wedding... I'm trying to guess how many cookies I should have I am going to order 66 dozen and make about 10 dozen. So that will be about a dozen per person plus cake and candies.

Is that too much? Any advise will be helpful!

I think one dozen cookies per person is a bit much. Maybe 4-6 per person? Because you have cake and candy, they may not even take 4-6.

Agreed with Kimberly. We are doing a dessert bar and our caterer said (since we are also having cake) to order 2-3 mini desserts per person. Since you are also using the cookies as your favors, I think you would need 4-6 per person at the most.

Agree with the above - unless you want to be eating cookies for a month after your wedding.

Jennifer B. -in pgh area too! Also italian.-all I freaking hear about are cookies from his parents, my parents-the lady down the street, etc lol! They say that in the cookie tradition you are supposed to have 6-7 cookies per person. BUT since that is your favor, are you wrapping them or just having them grab as they please? If you are wrapping them you may want a little more per person so people can take their favors home and also enjoy the cookies while they are at the your wedding.
