How many cocktail tables?

Hey, I’m currently awaiting my vendors pricing on cocktail tables and wanted to know how many I should get for approximately 100 guest? (Our wedding party consist of 14 people and our parents. So about 80 people will be at cocktail hour while we are taking pictures.)My reception and cocktail hour will be held in the same room this room can comfortably fit 220 people, but the maximum capacity is 260, so it is a large space. We we plan to divide the room. The venue has little couch benches about 12 of them. We are fine if some guest choose to sit at their tables if they do not feel like mingling or for those who are older and may not be able to stand very long. Also, The venue only offers the standing cocktail tables. So how many would you suggest?

We had 54 people and only had 4 high top cocktail tables. Most people just used them to set their glass down and didn’t hang out at them. During the dock tail hour most people are walking around and talking so I wouldn’t put too many out, especially if you have other seating options and they can sit at their tables.

I agree with Cyndy, you don't need a lot, but I would put 8 for 80 people!

Do however many would look good in the space, not based on the # of people. PPs' suggestions of 4-8 sound pretty good. Does your venue suggest a certain number?
