I had 8 or 9 four my 1st wedding... mostly because he had a lot of friends.
I'm having one or none this time. We're making our children part of the wedding instead. I MIGHT ask my best friend to be my matron of honor. I'm on the fence because I don't wanna ask her to buy a dress... since it would only be her I might ask and pay.
Me!! It's one of the first decisions my FH and I made after we got engaged. All of our close friends will be there and I'll be getting ready with my sisters and best friends anyway. I want everyone to feel comfortable and wear whatever they like, and at the end of the day, it's an extra expense (favors, parties, rehearsal dinner, gifts for the bridal party, etc) and requires a lot of coordination especially if they don't really know each other. I feel like when I mention it to people they're surprised, but I think it's becoming more common now. I've been to a few destination weddings with no bridal party and they were wonderful/fun.

I think we might be wedding soul mates lol For me everyone having fun is the most important. And I’m 100% on the same page about the extra expenses!
I'm having 3 and my wife to be is also having 3. But we're having a very small wedding. A friend of mine had a traditional wedding with 8 bridesmaids and 2 maids of honor. I could never, but if your happy then go for it!!!
I had four bridesmaids and my husband originally had four groomsmen, but one couldn’t be there. So, it was uneven, but that’s okay. There’s nothing wrong with five bridesmaids. It’s not a large number. My parents recently attended a wedding with nine bridesmaids and groomsmen.
We are a bit older and will have all of our children in our wedding. We have 4 daughters and a daughter in law and 2 sons. Our party will not be the same on both sides, but we are both ok with that and excited to be joining our two families.
