How many bridal shops to hit in one day?

Cassie, on January 17, 2015 at 7:51 PM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 18

OK, so I'm going dress shopping on Monday and I'm trying to plan the day. I want to go in the afternoon, but I was wondering how many appointments I should book in one day? I was thinking 2? Or 3? I don't want to get too overwhelmed, but I also don't want to not go enough places. Thoughts/Advice? Thanks!!!

I have two scheduled tomorrow. And they say they take about 1 1/2 to 2 hours each. So I guess it really depends on how much time in the day you have. We will see if I make it through tomorrow!

I went to three in one day and one the next day. Three in one day was exhausting. It's physically exhausting (you're standing all day), and mentally exhausting trying to pick something.

I have two scheduled: one in the morning and one in the afternoon. I included lunch and travel time so they should time out perfectly. I have been shopping with my friend as a bridesmaid and we went to 4 in a day-by the end, she was over it. It was exhausting for her to stand, get in and out, pull stuff she liked, drive across town, etc. She was over it and stressed by the third appointment.

I would only do one per day because it's hard to keep a group of people on a schedule including traveling and you probably wouldn't want to rush through one store just to get to the next one. Good luck!

I had two scheduled. I never made it to the second appointment. Spent three hours at the first bridal salon. It was amazing and I found my dress.

Yep about one is all you should do especially if it's a group of girls. However if you have never been to any of the stores I would keep the second one open until you get to the first one. I have been to a few salons that I could tell right away I was not going to find my dress and walked out. If the first one you can tell it will be good have one of your friends call and cancel the second.

I went to two in one day. After the second appointment I was exhausted. Luckily I had pretty much found my dress at the first shop and going to the second just reconfirmed it because I got to try it on in a different color which I LOVED. During the second appointment though I started to get worried and confused because all of the dresses started to blur together and look similar. So my suggestion would be to take LOTS of pictures. Take pictures of the dress on the hanger, on you, with accessories and a veil and also the details of each dress so later you can go back and remember what you liked and didn't like if they start to run together.

I went to two in one day. It was enough. I wasn't physically exhausted, I was emotionally drained. It takes guts coming out in a dress that isn't flattering.

My first appointment is next Saturday! I only booked the one appointment - I don't know if I could handle more than that in a day. I'm afraid that looking at too many dresses in one day would be overwhelming.

My first day of shopping, I went to three shops... by the time we left the last one, my mom and I went out to dinner and I was almost falling asleep at the table, I was so exhausted.

I would say 2 in one day is probably a more comfortable number, go a couple days if you have a few places to check out!

I did two in a day and it worked out great. After the first I went for lunch and that was really nice. I was sort of anxious at my first appointment and felt a little light headed afterwards, but lunch really helped and I calmed down and my second appointment was great because I was more relaxed. I had a third place I went to two days later, so that was a nice way to have it spread out. I only tried on 6-7 dresses at each place and it wasn't too overwhelming for me. I loved every dress so I liked having a variety to see in one day. Three could be too much though, especially if you only have an afternoon. Most appointments take about an hour and a half, but sometimes if you really like something you can go over the time so I made sure I had time for travel plus extra just in case. The worst that can happen if you're early is you have to wait for a consultant but I don't mind that.

    Have fun!!

I'd say no more than 2. My first trip dress hunting I did 2, which was doable, but you forget that you're standing up for nearly 2 hours straight for each appt., possibly in heels and it can get tiring.

When I went dress shopping I did 2 in one day and 1 more the next day. It was fine! I didn't feel overwhelmed.

I did two yesterday, with a beer and lunch in between. It was a lot, by the end of the second appointment I was completely shot. I think it kind of depends how you're feeling about it. I wasn't necessarily excited about the experience, I'm not really a dress kind of girl, so it was a pretty mentally draining day. We were at each appointment for about an hour, then I was done. Just know your limits and don't be afraid to be done.

I did three. Usually one out of three will be a dissapointment so you don't have to waste your time someplace that doesn't make sense. I would do three ONLY if you have a good idea of the style you want
