How long to get wedding photos back?

Hopeless Romantic, on July 2, 2017 at 2:00 AM Posted in Etiquette and Advice 0 21

It has been over 8 weeks since the wedding and no photos yet. There wasn't any amount of time in the contract.

Is it normal for it to take 3 months?

My contract was specific about delivering them between 4-6 weeks. We got ours 5 weeks after the wedding.

We got a link to view our proofs online 4 weeks after the wedding and then received the USB of our photos 7 weeks after the wedding.

Since you weren't told what to expect, I think you could reach out and politely ask how long it usually takes to get photos back and if he or she has an estimate for you of when you can expect to get your photos. I'd just frame it as you're curious and realized this wasn't something you had asked before, not that you're impatient and feel the photos are late since you had not been promised them by a certain date.

I'm still waiting on mine, but I've been in contact with our photographer, who has been very forthcoming and due to some major medical issues is still editing out photos.

I'm anxiously waiting to get my photos back.

(For background, our photographer was about 6 months pregnant, about 1.5 weeks after our wedding she was admitted to the hospital with her blood pressure dangerously high. After 4 days with her blood pressure in the 220 range, she was induced and had her son at 29 weeks. She's doing better now but our photos took a back seat. Which I don't mind because that's traumatic and her son is just more important.)

So it's looking like it will be about 4 months to get my photos back.

Call the person and see what's going on. My photographer said about 2 months so that seems like awhile to me

My photographers (we had 2 from 2 different places) got our wedding pictures back in 5 weeks. We did a dw and then an additional reception back home. We did a slideshow of the wedding pictures when we got home prior to us being introduced at the reception.

I think you have an incredible perspective of the situation. Health is more important and thank goodness she is ok. As long as the photographer continues to be honest with you and talks to you I think unfortunately patience is what is needed.

There should always be delivery time in the contract. Mine says 30 days, but without that...it's indeterminate. Have you reached out yet? It's certainly a good idea to make contact, and get an ETA. It's not unheard of to take 3 months....if they have a grueling post production process or 9 million photos to go through. But I'd not like feeling that far behind personally.

I wouldn't stress too much given the time of year. Just e-mail them or give them a call. Explain that you're just excited to see them and in all the wedding talk you can't remember when you should expect them. I'm sure they won't mind at least updating you.

I'm the day after you (it's only been 2 months, so I'm not sure where your 3 months question is coming from, unless you think it's going to take another month?) and I haven't gotten my pics back yet either.

My photographer says we can expect them around 60 days (8 weeks) so we should be getting them any day now!

You should email your photographer, they are the only ones who can tell you.

Our contract says 8-12 weeks. You never know how many events your photographer has booked so it could be a heavy or light workload editing

Mine took 4 months. I don't find 3 months unusual based on the photographers I interviewed.

When my brother and SIL got married it took months to get their pictures. I don't remember exactly how long, but it was definitely more than 2 months. I don't know if that's normal though.

Our contract said 4-6 weeks. We had them within 4 weeks with a few previews released to us ahead of time.

I would reach out to your photographer. We had a sneak peak two weeks out. Received all our pics yesterday with a link and flash drive. Album takes an additional 8-10 weeks once we choose our photos. (For reference, our photographer recently returned to work full time in January and does her photography on the side now)

We got ours 1 week to the day after the wedding, but I got married off-season around Christmas. You're in peak wedding season, so I don't think 8 weeks is that concerning. You could always email your photographer to get an ETA.

Did you have a contract @OP? This seems a bit long to me, but as PPs said it is peak season.

Just reviewed my contract and it says 90 days. I agree with others, you can always reach out to your photographer to get an ETA.
