How long is the rehearsal?

Erica, on July 29, 2013 at 1:47 PM Posted in Planning 0 9

Trying to nail down time to tell caterer. The rehearsal will be at 5:30 and at the same venue as the rehearsal dinner so it's not like I have to allow drive time.

Would a 6pm dinner be feasible? We rehearse and literally walk downstairs to the dinner. We aren't having a FG or RB, so that makes it faster too.

It's going to depend on a lot of factors.

Ours will be about 1/2 hour, but yours could be much shorter. I can't imagine it being longer, but you never know.

We are allowing 30 minutes for ours. Our ceremony is only going to be 30 mins so i can't imagine it being longer than that. Your officiant will be able to give the most accurate answer though....

It depends on how punctual all of your bridal party members are and how organized you are.

We had a small wedding with only a best man and a maid of honor (and then our parents also to walk down the aisle) so there wasn't a whole lot to go over. I'd say it probably took us about 20 minutes. Half hour if you consider the extra time just dilly dallying and socializing.

Now with my brother's wedding, there were 16 bridal party members total (no kids). We spent a lot of time waiting for everyone to arrive. My SIL didn't seem to have a plan in mind so we spent a lot of wasted time with her just figuring out what she wanted to do, what order she wanted people in, and then organizing everyone... I'd say it took about an hour.

If everyone is on time and you are organized, I think a 6 pm dinner would definitely be feasible.

We have a bridal party of 17. FH and I told everyone to get there at 5:45 and set 7:30 dinner reservations. Our ceremony is only 15 minute long but we figure people will be late and are giving them time to get there.

I think between 30-45 but you have to allow time for ppl. being late. I'm thinking of "lying" to our BP because we have one right after ours... LOL

My rehearsals usually take 30 minutes to run through the processional, the highlights of the ceremony, and the recessional -- twice.
