How long did it take you to find a photographer?

Have you searched instagram or fbook? 9 months isn't bad I did mine 11 months before but you are now facing covid brides that are postponing.

We spent a while searching through portfolios online. Photography is super important to me for my wedding, and I spent weeks looking online. My fiance was the one that ultimately found the photographer we ended up hiring. Don't give up! Look on Google, Wedding Wire, The Knot, etc. Reach out to the ones that you like the portfolios of to find out if they have your date available, and maybe try to negotiate a little if the price is too high.

We spent a lot of time looking through portfolios and we found one about 9 months out, but that was before COVID. Where are you getting married? Someone on here might have a recommendation.

We hired our photographer somewhere around 14 months out I think. His packages were out of our budget, but I was just honest about our budget when I reached out and he offered to do six good instead of his usual 8 to get within our price range. Sometimes it’s worth asking, especially since the chance of filling a date gets less and less the closer you get- they may be willing to work with you. Good luck!

Honestly now that covid brides have postponed their weddings, a lot of photographers have limited dates for next year. It does take time trying to research for any vendor really, so if you like someone, I would book right away. All my days off, I spent researching different vendors. I thought I was crazy at the time, but now I realize there's a lot of time that goes in to planning.

I reached out a few photographers, but it wasn't until we met ours in person that we just knew she would be the right one for the job.

I tried Yelp and found my photographers who live one town over! I hadn't heard of them before but their work is lovely!
