How long after rsvp date did you accept Rsvpsm

Tina, on June 4, 2019 at 8:57 AM Posted in Etiquette and Advice 0 14

I set my date way early in purpose so I could everything paid for. The last date was June 1st. I went from 55 ppl to 86 ppl in that one day. Then yesterday I had about 10 more ppl RSVP from his family. I didn't know what to do so I just enter went it. But I'm pretty much ready to be done with that part of planning. How long should I wait after the RSVP by date?

I'm a little confused by this. However, you need to wait until after the RSVP date. You set that date. So a within a week after your RSVP date you should contact people who haven't RSVP'D and let them know their answer is needed by a certain date, otherwise they will be considered as a no. Obviously, you can word it nicer than that.

Exactly this. Giving them a final notice is nicer than just saying “no RSVP, not coming.” Because you’re setting yourself up for people to just show up. I know it’s annoying...we all go through it, but wait a couple days after your RSVP deadline then do follow up calls to the non responders.

I’m guessing you mean June 1st was the deadline for RSVPs. In that case I would take the rest of this week to contact people via phone and tell them you need to get your final count handed over to your vendors. You need to know if they will be attending, if you don’t hear from them within the next two/three days they will be marked off as a no. If July 1st (what you wrote in your post) is the deadline then you need to wait until after that date.

Your wedding is still more than two months away so I’m not surprised you’re still getting RSVPs as your rsvp date was really early. I would reach out to anyone you haven’t heard from and just let them know that you need an answer by (x date) or you’ll have to mark them as a no.

Oh ya, I had several people give themselves plus ones. Lucky for them, I was able to accommodate, but I know that isn't the case for a lot of brides.

You need to call everyone that didn't RSVP and see if they are coming.

I still accepted them way after. i am required to have a certain number of guests regardless for my venue space so i basically was wanting my seats filled anyway and we had a lot of people give us a heads up that they were trying to work out their schedules.

definitely do follow ups because some people are just god awful at responding

Day after you should call each non rsvp just to double check numbers and get everything finalized. How many are you waiting on?

Our RSVP date is June 10. I'll be contacting everyone who hasn't responded on June 11.
