How late is too late...

Getting married June 9, 2018 and I want to know how late I could get my dress... I know I shouldn't be thinking like this, but to have the people I want there with me it is looking like sometime between late Oct to Dec before I could go shopping and I just wanted to know if this was too late.

I ordered my dress in January and it came in July. So It took 7 months to come in.

I bought my dress in early July. The store said it should take 4-6 months to get back, but I wanted to make sure if somehow it took longer there would be plenty of time. I would start looking at styles now to get an idea of what you like.

I would do the leg work now..........shop around and find the style and shape that you like and narrow it down to a few dresses and then when your company comes in bring them to make the final decision. that way they will still be there but it won't take as long

I think it just depends on where you go; I ordered my dress from David's Bridal and they told me 6-8 weeks, but it arrived in about a week and a half.

I'll tell my same experience that I share every single time someone asks this question.

I ordered my dress a year in advance (so this past March). Everyone said it was too early, but I did it. It was supposed to come in late September, but it's been delayed until November now. If I had waited any longer I would have been on the line of not having enough time for alterations. Go now. Please.

The earlier the better, but most wedding lists say 8 months. It depends on a lot of things. I bought mine off the rack 6 months before the wedding.

Wow you guys are scaring me. I have a destination wedding in July 2018. I thought I had time to look. I want to lose a few more pounds and tighten up but I guess i need to look now.

You don't need to have people with you for the appointments. I went alone to all my appointments and had no problems. I wouldn't wait just because you want someone there with you. Dresses can take a long time to come in and then you have to wait more time after alterations. I'd just go check stuff out now.

Depends on where you want to go. Boutiques take way longer, bridal stores like David's bridal you can get a dress pretty fast!

I ordered mine in June. They told me it would take 6-8 months. This is the same place that took 5 months to get my bridesmaid dress for my brother's wedding in. They called yesterday, it's here. Better early than late I guess?

Depends where you buy from. I bought my dress from BHLDN and it arrived 2 business days later! Check with the stores you're interested in on typical timeline for their dresses.

That's plenty of time- provided it doesn't have to be ordered. If it's off the rack, plenty of time. And even it does- you have so many options that won't take 9 months to come in. 6 to 8 MONTHS?????? Are you serious? I planned my whole wedding in 6. I just think that's unreasonably long to wait. But I bought mine off the rack at Macy's. Is that normal??

My wedding is a month before yours and I have my dress but ran into an issue. I asked a shop the latest I could order and they said mid nov for super rush (an extra $400). Not sure if ever designer has super rush. I'd go now.

I went in February and it came in at the beginning of this month so that's about 6 months-ish. My dress won't be back from the seamstress for 2 weeks so it feels like I am kinda pushing it.
