About 10 months out for Plan A, but we scrapped that and decided to do a DW and a home town reception just shy of 6 months out. Worked out, though!

We got engaged 10/13/11 and started planning almost immediately before we even officially picked a date. I even got my dress 2 weeks after our engagement! We both wanted to have the wedding in late summer. We eventually chose 8/18/12 as our wedding date, so 10 months.

19 months, which is how long our engagement will be in the end.

1 year...We paid for the venue/catering and then started looking for a photographer. After we found her, I started picking up things like decorations, flowers, brooches little by little. I'm using artificial flowers in my centerpieces and even those go in and out of season...

I started a group on Facebook for my BMs to vote on dresses I picked out or ones they might like. Then I started looking at sites for my dress.

That's easy, you start plannin gyour wedding when you are about 10 and start "dreaming" about Prince Charming and Cinderella!!

Kidding asde, so there are some people that can pull off a rush wedding in a matter of a few months, it's best to have atleast 1 to 1/2 years. I say this because having a full year allows you to see when different vendors have the best deal on items and services and it's easier to negotiate better pricing if you are giving a vendor that much notice.

Since I was 5! I was the little girl who always dreamed of her wedding day! But I put all that into action the day after our engagement. We were engaged on 7.29.10 and married on 9.10.11. Just a little over a year. We had the date, church and reception venue picked out and contracts signed 11 days after our engagement.

We got engaged on May 7, 2011 and getting married on October 6, 2012, I started planning right away, so that makes it about a year and 5 months.

Got engaged on 7/2/11 and getting married 10/7/12 ... 15 months total. At this point all the major vendors are done. We have to do all the DIY stuff, get dresses, tuxes, etc

We wanted to get an exact date so we started looking at Venues 18 months out (a month after we got engaged).

Once the venue was locked it I started looking at over vendors and trying to book one thing a month.

We got engaged on 5/28/11 and our wedding is 2/23/13, so about 19 1/2 months. I started looking at venues, dresses, etc... immediately after we were engaged. The first thing we did was put together an impromptu guest list to figure out just how big our wedding would be and which venues would be knocked off this list because they couldn't accomodate us. The venue is probably the single most important aspect just because most places book up so far in advance. We looked at our venue in August 2011 and they were booked up through September of 2012 already! It may seem like a long time, but these last 6 months have gone by so fast! Give yourself plenty of time, that will allow you to enjoy planning your wedding and will make it seem less like a chore! Happy planning!!
