How far away can the venues be?

I am having my wedding in my hometown at my childhood church but with trying to keep the reception venue cheap I am realizing I would have to ask people to drive at least 30 minutes. Is a 30-minute drive too much for a reception? I am doing my wedding pictures before the ceremony (including the ones with my FH) so we would get to the reception area around the same time as everyone else.

Stressed!

Typically, 30 minutes would be max distance between ceremony and reception area. I think you would be fine.

I’m in the same boat. Our venue is in a small town and our church is kinda far. It’ll be about 35 - 40 minutes. I was a bit stressed but people don’t have to go to the ceremony if they don’t want to make the drive. I honesty don’t care as long as my bridal party, mom and dad and FH are there. That’s something to consider heavily - if you’re okay with people just coming to the reception.

I think 30 minutes is fine! Anything longer than that probably not though
