How early do you order grooms attire?

Flame Princess, on January 20, 2020 at 10:18 AM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 6
Is it like dresses where you need to order them so far in advance for alterations?(My groom is considered slim/ petite, if thats any relevant information) Or do most guys rent theirs? We have no clue.

Also, if the wedding party is responsible for their own attire, how soon do I tell them what to wear? I have on Bridesmaid whom is currently expecting, but the baby will be roughly 6-8 months old by the time of the wedding rolls around. Obviously her body is going to have a ton of changes, and I dont want to stress her out more than she will be. Part of the reason everyone gets their own stuff is due to the vast range of everyones incomes and we dont want to be THAT couple that indirectly income shames, you know? (Plus Im planning something secret and nice for morning-of for my girls and gm's plus ones) Naturally I want to tell them as soon as possible, but they might forget.

We booked FH's rental about two months before our wedding. One of the groomsmen has booked theirs, the other is still working on it (we're now almost a month away).

As for the bridesmaids, usually 3-4 months before the wedding is long enough for MOST dresses to come in. Sometimes specific styles may take longer, but usually that's plenty of time.

We are going to look at tuxes for my FH and groomsman in March, so about 6 months out. After we do that we are going to let the groomsmen know that they can book their rentals as well. For bridesmaid, I already gave them the information as to where to order from. They will be getting dresses from Azazie. I think they all plan to order in June since production time is fairly quick. The only thing I am or my FH is buying for the groomsmen are ties because I want the color to match the color of the dresses I picked for my bridesmaids. Otherwise they will be responsible for paying for their tuxes. The same goes for my bridesmaids, I am paying for their hair to help them out.

My fiance is wearing a custom suite which we already ordered (we are 2.5 months from wedding). They recommend we come 3 weeks before wedding for the groomsmen's rentals.

    1. My husband and I started looking for suites months out. We didn't plan on purchasing them, we planned on renting them. We went into 3 stores and did 3 online free try ons. He picked 2 months out & told his groomsmen then. My husband did purchase his button down white shirt & have it altered, alterations took about a week. We also purchased all the ties & pocket squares, we did that about 2 months out.

    2. I told my bridesmaids 14 months out about their dresses. I picked Azazie and gave them a color, fabric & length so they could pick their own dress in their own price range. Since they had such far notice, several took advantage of things like black friday 15% off and other sales.

My husband rented his tux the week of. I don’t recommend waiting that long lol but it’s not a high stress item on your list. We talked to our groomsmen about it 2 months out and they actually rented maybe 2 weeks before. I sent my bridesmaids dress info 11 months out simply bc one of the girls requested it. They ended up ordering about 2 months out and there was time to spare. But that depends on what store you’re ordering from bc some take longer.
