How do i plan for a ceremony one day and a reception another?

Be aware it's a huge inconvenience to guests and those involved in the wedding. As well as any vendors you may need for both. Be prepared for many people to decline.

I'm only having close family at the wedding ceremony.

We are doing a small ceremony June 20 and then big ceremony + reception on August 7. For June 20 the only vendors I am having are officiant, photographer, hair and makeup. I am going to buy an artificial flower bouquet. FH is going to wear a suit he owns. We are going to have dinner somewhere afterwards and I am planning on buying a sheet cake.

We decided to do this! Keeping our wedding date of June 12 and having a small ceremony at the house (only inviting a few family members and wedding parties). Our photographer was on board to do both! All other vendors we switched to our new reception date in October. And we told everyone to save their suits/dresses for October so no stress to hurry and get them now. I’m just winging it at this point honestly!

I think the majority of weddings these days are going this route with a small family ceremony and bigger reception later. I think vendors are grateful for any business coming their way in next 3-6 months.
