How do I list my future stepdaughters in the wedding program?

Melanie, on June 18, 2017 at 7:57 PM Posted in Etiquette and Advice 0 14

My future stepdaughters are my bridesmaids. How should I list them or what title should I use? Father's daughter?

How old are they? Old enough to ask their preference?

Are you listing the relationships of all your WP members in the program? Usually, I just see:

    Maid of Honor

    Name

    Bridesmaids

    Name

    Name

    Or something to that effect.

Yeah, I'd just ask them what they want. I'm about to have two teenage stepkids as well who are in our wedding party, and we have given them a voice (but not a vote) in wedding things related to them.

Hi Brittany, What have your stepkids said? I am thinking if I ask my stepdaughters they will need some suggestions. I can't seem to find anything on google.

Hi BlueHenBride, I was trying to list relationship but I may simply list their names if that is easier. Smiley smile

I've always heard to put the primary relationship for the wedding party. So for DH's sisters, we listed them as "sister of the groom" even though they are my SILs (and we get along great!). I'd list your stepkids as "daughter of the groom"

Well we aren't doing programs. But there's a couple ways you could go. The more formal, FH's daughter. Or you could do something more personal/informal. Like our kids always call us "the fam"

Agree with @BlueHenBride just announce them as what they are in the BP and their names.

That is great Brittany! It sounds like you have a really great relationship with your stepkids. I have a good relationship with mine and we have dated for 5 years before deciding to get married but they have expressed this comes with mixed feelings for them seeing their Dad marry someone else.

    I have an idea.

This is our ceremony welcome sign. We listed our parents after WP. You could add "kid 1, 2 & 3 gaining a mom" before parents?

H has 2 sons (20 and 22) who were his GM. We listed them as "son of the groom" in our programs.
