How do i delegate things to get help with planning??

Other than bouncing some ideas off her or asking for help with some DIY projects (if any), I would leave the actual planning stuff to you and your fiance.

I am the first of my friends to get married and I have had a lot of people (who aren’t in the bridal party) volunteer to help. I haven’t asked anyone to help because I feel that my friends are so excited about the prospect of someone near them getting married (and attending a wedding) that they’d expressed interest because they’re caught up in the fantasy of wedding planning.

I am not sure if your MOH is perhaps in the same boat or otherwise if she genuinely does want to help (and will follow through) but I think the best thing to do would be to have an open conversation with her and put the ball in her court – if she says she wants to help, tell her “sure, what did you have in mind?”. This will open dialogue so that you can both be on the same page and otherwise will ensure that anything she is delegated remains voluntary.

I have an eager MOH too who kept wanting to help... but I really just wanted my FH and I to plan our wedding and we are doing well with it. I just tried to include her by running some decisions by her (hey, what do you think of these rehearsal dinner options? Do you like this hairpiece and jewelry?). One thing that I am taking her up on is that she has arranged to get sandwiches, beverages and such for the getting ready room for lunch. I knew I wouldn't have time to plan that and arrange for it to get to our room, so it is a huge relief that she was able to figure it out so I had one less thing to worry about on our day.
